I agree with the statement highlighted in bold in the below post.

If you read most of the grassroots forum, they are pouring money into all kinds of things, in several states.

Did you see that huge mailer they sent out in Nevada? Or that they have opened 4 offices this Q? Or that they are phone banking, lit dropping and apparently they hired professional ballot petitioners to help out at least one state?

The campaign is spending the money, which is why it is so frustrating to people here dictate that they shouldn't get a significant amount for another 3 weeks.

The time is now. The man has met the hour, and that man is RON PAUL!

I recall lots of messages posted here urging the campaign to spend their money. Well, they're spending it, which means they need to keep raising it. [Note: the preceeding is not meant as an endorsement of Nov 30th].

I've been following RP for several years.

I've been at every

Packer Game Handing out slim Jims.

I've donated a few hundred bucks

I have a sign in my yard, a bumper sticker on my car, I've converirted 10 family members and, I'm on the delegate waiting list for WI.

Just because I don't have X # of post on the RP forums means nothing. However I must admit I don't even know half the story.

Either way I can see how wasteful all this hating is and, I was hoping to help resolve it.

If the campaign told us exactly how much they need and how soon, it would cause a lot less panic and confusion for us, since we'd know exactly what to get them, and then back to the 16th it is.

Having worked on campaigns before, the honest answer is "as much as possible as soon as possible".

Winning the nomination for Dr. Paul is still a long shot. The more money the campaign raises, the more likely it becomes. We are far, far short of raising more money than can be usefully spent.

What the heck is going on here? Techno, you are being slammed for no reason at all. All the rest of you, think about what you are defending. You are defending dishonesty. You are backing deceitfulness. You are standing up for arrogance, self-righteousness, hubris, and rudeness.

What is so hard about this? It is not a difficult philosophical question. Trevor put up a website. It was called teaparty07.com. That name by the way came from a lot of discussion on this forum. We all voted on things and decided it. Then he designed the website. The website states its purpose is to promote the Boston Tea Party and to send out informational emails about the status of the Tea Party. That is all. Simple.

People then took Trevor and the words he had written at his word and honor as a person. They told friends about the site, they advertised it, they wrote articles about it, they sent it to professional bloggers to spread the message and the word.

Techno and others have also worked tirelessly to spread the word on Myspace since the campaign refuses to do in one minute what is taking us weeks to accomplish.

llepard (sp?) spent eighty thousand dollars of his OWN money to put an ad in the paper and to help promote the Tea Party.

Articles have been written about it, people have included the link in discussions after news articles, they have asked their friends to sign up, their family, the co-workers. People have spent money on fliers about it, spreading the word about the Tea Party wherever they could.

Newscasters have even discussed the Tea Party.

Then, after all of this, Trevor, decides, to hell with all of you and your trust. I am going to do whatever I want with the site. I am going to change course with it. Not only that, but I am going to derail all of your work, and do whatever I can to sabotage the 16th. I, on my own, am going to take all of those email addresses that were given to me on faith that I would promise to send them nothing but information about the tea party, and use those addresses to promote something that I want to do.

What is so hard about this? He lied. He tricked people. He scammed people. He used people's email addresses for a purpose beyond the consent for which they were obtained. He hurt every person that promoted that site. He has been rude to us all. He has acted like a child who doesn't have to care about others and can dump all over any time he likes.

Now, all of us who have spent hundreds of hours promoting this find that our efforts have been hijacked. Sadly, we trusted Trevor not to change the entire direction of the donation drive and like idiots we worked hard to get his website out there. Now, we have to re-double our efforts, go back to our friends, co-workers, family, and tell them please, we are sorry, ignore what that guy said, that is not our goal.

People who wrote articles will have to write retractions and/or write new articles and tell folks, sorry, I don't know what happened. I never expected you to be spammed like that. I don't like his idea and I don't promote it.

People will have to send out new emails to everyone on the Myspace pages and say, no, please don't go to that website I suggested, it now has a new purpose that I do not support.

I can't even imagine the pain that the guy who bought the ad in the paper must be feeling, the betrayal, the sheer cruelty of tossing all of his money out the window (or some of it) to support a site that then changed its direction in mid stream.

If you folks can't figure that out then you need a moral compass.

One of the most basic tenets of life is DO ALL YOU AGREED TO DO. It is a very simple concept. Trevor broke it. He broke the golden rule for those of you to whom that is important - he treated others in a way I doubt he would want to be treated himself. He LIED to people about the purpose of his website and he tricked people into giving them their email addresses and then used them for his own personal reasons.

None of this has anything to do with the additional money drive. It has to do with a man's character and his moral fiber.

I don't care why he did it, I don't care what his motives were, he lied and cheated and I am one of those people that spent many many hours and thousands of emails and letters to editors, and wrote replies in newspapers all to promote a website that I now have found out has done something I disagree with and would NEVER in a million years have worked on if I had known that Trevor was going to trick us all like that.

Say what you like, but to defend him?

And Techno - Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this thread. It was needed because people unfortunately have been blind to any of Trevor's faults and automatically pardon his actions for some unknown reason. Perhaps they are his friends, perhaps they have not thought it out, but this is not a difficult moral issue.

Lying is wrong, umkay? Trickery is wrong, umkay? Hijacking a project that hundreds have been working on to change it to whatever you feel like is wrong, umkay? Being rude is wrong, umkay? Must I go on?

I am sorry to go on and on like this, but this madness has to stop. His actions are not defensible. They are deplorable. If he is willing to apologize, promise not to do it again, I am sure that is all it would take to appease an awful lot of people. However, I see no such direction from him, I see threats and attacks at people who have been duped by him.

I agree with the poll statement because the statement on the website implies that email addresses will only be used to promote the Dec 16th teaparty. Aside from the use of the list, if RP supporters want to promote another event, they have every right to do so.

MAN cyclone did you NOT READ the letter the campaign sent out asking for money?
THE CAMPAIGN is asking for money SOONER than the 16, for fucks sake people think. Trevor is just finding away to do so.
I just hope in the email he sent out he explained the reasons for the new moneybomb
And also your making it sound like the 16 was canceled... its still going we are getting about 1000 people a day. its still going strong.

I smell A RAT!

It's very easy to see that your jealous and trying to take over.

Defending oneself from claims like that is always hopeless, but I can tell you one thing: the days leading up to November 11th, I was getting hundreds of e-mails, and I can tell you that while the event itself is great, it is NOT fun to run something like this; I highly respect Trevor for what he is doing, because you will know it is NOT easy (and I certainly wouldn't logistically have the time for doing it). Please don't make accounts just to make outlandish claims. Eh, for all I know, you are one of the veterans here and made this account to remain anonymous, but I hope not.

Cyclone pretty much summed up how I feel with his post. I have worked my tail off in school to maintain a 4.0. This is going to be the first semester that I don't get all A's. Why? Because I've neglected school to spend time on the Revolution. I have spent COUNTLESS hours the past two weeks hitting the street and telling everyone that "Ron Paul does stand a chance, we are going to raise 10 million dollars for him on the 16th, go to TeaPatry07.com to see why." Now all these people that I talked to in front of Walmarts and Post Offices are going to think back to what I told them, and laugh about that fool who was hyping up Ron Paul.

Not only that, but I have to call all of my family that I got to sign up for the pledge and explain all this bull crap and tell them that the 16th is still on, and to ignore the email that they received.

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking. The campaign is asking for the money and he holds all the e-mail addresses. Who knows though, it's sounds like I don't know the whole story.

All I know is, I put hours into the Nov 5th thing too, by copy and pasting shi# all over the internet along with a zillion other people.

I don't see them here complaining and trying to run the show. Additionally just because I don't spend hundreds of hours on this particular site means nothing.

Chances are I've converted more strangers than most people. I've always reconized the fact that the internet is saturated with Ron Paul, so I went out in the real world to spread the word.

It's a lot tougher out there at an NFL football game or going door to door then typing Go RP 2008!. When your having conversations with the general public in their living room holding your laptop when they're trying to eat dinner. To me that means more than the # of times you posted on this site.

Now everybody quit pouting and get back to work. Future Worm Food

Let him e-mail whoever the hell he wants to e-mail

Trust people to make their own decisions.

Benaiah how do you suppose we deal with the email the campaign sent us?

However people want. I'm not even against people setting up a Nov 30th money bomb. I have no intention of promoting it, donating on the 30th, or telling anyone about it, however, I do not care if you all go ahead and try to make a money bomb for the 30th.

What I have a problem with is using the TeaParty07.com website for promoting anything other than the December 16th money bomb. That's what I thought it was for, nothing else. If TeaParty07.com is going to be used for anything other than December 16th (by email, or on it's website) then he needs to let us know so that we can make another website that promotes the Tea Party ONLY.

Rob,

I have never posted on this previous to today, although I have read it for the last few months.
I didn't follow the Nov 5th thing here, I just saw it on u tube and started pasting.

I'm just saying how I feel. I can understand how the other guy feels having to explain the e-mail to his family and such.

It reminds me of the shi@ I had to deal with selling real estate.

What do you think of the blimp idea and why?

for starters if hes not thinking about promoting it, then he shouldn't have to explain his family about the email. and I do hope that if hes asked he can at least have the courtesy to explain WHY the new site was created.

That's true because RP's campaign is requesting the money NOW. AKA RON wants the money NOW!!!!!!!

You don't think he communicated with his staff? When they say the staff the mean RON.

Just be3cause someone or some two have 2000 post doesn't mean anything. there are rats everywhere. they need the money now.

The campaign doesn't always know what's best for the campaign. Ron Paul said himself that the buggy is pushing the horse in this case.

Right, a bunch of random characters here, who do not know what their needs specifically are, how much it costs, or when it has to be paid for and implemented to be effective know better what the campaign needs.

Ron Paul said himself that the buggy is pushing the horse in this case.
Don't get caught in the trap of thinking everything the grassroots cooks up is the perfect answer. No one is perfect.

And besides, a significant portion of the grassroots has agreed to back 11/30. By your logic, that validates the money bomb on that day.

Me3,

I think that 95% of the people who voted in this thread will wish you the best of luck on your Nov 30th money bomb. All we're asking for is to let Tea Party be Tea Party, and to not use it's website or subscriber list to promote anything else.
