Peter Thiel has meeting with Rand Paul and delegates for Ron Paul in Tampa

And Thiel being there suggests the exact same thing.

Maybe, but I honestly think that Peter Thiel is a true believer. He's literally made billions, but his philosophy hasn't wavered. He donated millions to the Ron Paul race, and I don't think we've seen all the returns we're eventually going to see from that investment.

I get that; but the guy has a nose for investments and the 2 don't have to be mutually exclusive. in fact, if there is money to be made doing what you are a "true believer" in, all the better.

It wouldn't surprise me to see any of the neocon establishment supporting Rand.

He's made himself available to them.

Paul told us this would happen. He said that most politicians will change their positions when and only when the positions become popular. And profitable, too, I suppose.

Good. I mean look at the alternatives they could support next time- Christie, Rubio, Santorum. Would you all rather that?

Sure, but a bunch of the money that Thiel spend in the campaign could be described as a social media experiment. He could have started a company and written all that off as a business expense, but he didn't. He donated it to a PAC, which means it came right out of his pocket.

I hope he decides to spend his funds on things like Seasteading, media, and education instead of politics. If he bankrolled some of those projects with a few million dollars, they would really take off.

Back in 2007, Coulter said that Ron Paul was dead right about everything except his foreign policy, and she was afraid to listen to him too closely because she was afraid she might find out he was right about that.

She's a media whore. She's no more interested in spreading liberty than she is about selling communism. What she is interested in is selling Ann Coulter. The fact that she made time to come hang out with a group of people that she has at least one fundamental difference with doesn't mean she's coming around. What it does mean is that she believes there's a buck to me made.

And that's not a bad thing for us. If she makes a million dollars selling at least a part our message, we all win.

She's been working with Glen Beck for an opposing conservative student group. It's like RP's domestic policy with a neo-con foreign policy.

Don't remember their name, but in direct competition with YAL.

I want to be careful. When big money enters a room, everyone gets very congenial and or a suckup. It's hard to resist. The ear is open, the heart is rendered neutral.

unfortunately, this can be true.

Well, we'll see what happens.

Yeah, but his positions aren't 100% with Ron's. I like Ron's. But we'll see what happens, I guess.

They'll simply co-opt it, I personally think the only way to break MSM stranglehold over the TV is internet TV, and we need to move quick before the establishment create the infrastructure.

We bring freedom to the TV in the same way the internet has woken us up. Here is a link to my idea that I had, if anyone has better solution or ideas they can share it to get this going.

I like the idea, but for the next thirty years we ALSO need something not on internet for the non internet audience. But I agree this WILL become coopted as well, as time goes on, so getting in now make sense.

If Obama starts an unpopular war they could easily flip on FP.

Doug Wead has come out and said the Liberty movement needs a "political candidate" to take the torch. He was not implying the candidate had to be a politician per say. But that the candidate needed to be able to play politics. Ron Paul never did.

Yeah, as early as the Ames straw poll Wead was saying the best thing about Ron was that we'd have Rand there too. I held it against him personally.

And for every person in the GOP primary audience who 'couldn't listen' to something Ron said, it seems there were a ton of people who could.

It's wonderful to see Rand hanging with Thiel discussing our forward progress. If we stick with our policy of injecting more of us into our local GOP and keep the leadership positions coming with more of our people, then '16 will be ripe for victory. We'll also have a solid liberty club in the House and Senate w/ farm teamers ready to come up from the minors to help. This thread made my day.

I know it's the flipside but I think it's much easier to transist ( between now and 2016) with President Obama becoming elected again. That may sting a bit but I think it's true.

I received the invite in my mail around 9 PM the night before, when I clicked to accept around midnight, the event was already full :(

Are you serious? Why was she even there?

Was this the same Ann Coulter who said Mitt Romney was the most conservative candidate running?

I also told her that I want Mitt Romney to earn my vote in November, and that the only way he can do that is with an honest-to-God come-to-Jesus moment with strict Constitutional government. He won't, of course, but the harder he panders the more loudly our platforms will be heard and debated commonly.
