I might differ from some here, I don't dislike Paul Ryan. I think I have more views in common with him than differing. If he was at the top of the ticket and had a real chance to beat Obama, I could vote for him. But he's not and I don't think his running mate is the best choice on my ballot. I'll stick with Johnson.

I don't hate Obama personally enough to vote for a different candidate with the exact same policies.

If Romney had flipped our way on a few issues (Afghanistan, TARP, QE X, NDAA, gun control, whatever) he might have gotten a few of our votes. As it stands now he's running on the _exact_ same platform as Obama with a little bit of gay bashing thrown in. Personally that makes me _less_ likely to vote for him than Obama.

And the debates are going to be a DISASTER for Romney.

We're really in a no-win election. So everyone here should be free to do what they want. I think I'm going to vote for Romney. The Rand method seems to be striking gold in terms of advancing the cause, and I'd rather have a war within the Republican party rather than just be an obstructionist. If Romney turns out to be as bad as many here predict, then we can primary him in 2016. As bad as Bush was, for example, he wasn't going to force Obamacare down the throat of the entire country like Obama did. But for everything else, Rand is still going to be outvoted 99-1 or 80-10 on our most pressing issues regardless who is in the Senate or White House.

Your eternal failure is not being able to show, or explain how rewarding bad behavior corrects bad behavior.

You're the Ben Bernanke of throwing good votes after bad candidates while ignoring market truth.

The way I look at it is that since I live in a non swing state, I'll just vote my conscience and vote 3rd party, and it won't really have any affect on the outcome of the race. But if I actually lived in one of the swing states, I'm afraid I would have to hold my nose and vote for Romney. I say this not because he's a good candidate, but because our country literally can't survive four more years of Obama as President. It would be different if Obama were actually a traditional Democrat like Kucinich who we could agree with on foreign policy, some civil liberties issues, the drug war, etc. However, Obama is wrong on all of those issues as well, so I just don't see one single good thing about him getting re-elected.

Bah, wobblies around here were saying the same thing last go around, "I have to vote McPain, the country won't survive Obama!!".

Here it is, four years later, after two year of a Democrat congress no less, and we're still all here, still plodding along, just a little less free than before, which, of course, happens year after year, president after president.

This failing experiment will continue to lurch on, just as long as the powers that be need it to, and not a day longer.

Your or I or the president has little if nothing to do with when that day comes.
