I didn't think it was a particularly funny episode, however I understand what they were trying to do. They were treating handicapped people just like everyone else. The down syndrome character wasn't "special" or to be pitied or treated differently, she was a snotty pushy bitch. Chris even says "I used to hear that people with down syndrome were different from the rest of us but you're not. You're not different at all. You're just a bunch of assholes like everyone else!"
This. I still don't get how it was "making fun of" Palin's child, especially in the isolated quote being used in all the standard articles. It seems that to even mention "Sarah Palin has a child with Down's Syndrome" must mean you have an agenda and hate people with Down's Syndrome... unless you're Sarah Palin (or Palin-approved).
