I didn't think it was a particularly funny episode, however I understand what they were trying to do. They were treating handicapped people just like everyone else. The down syndrome character wasn't "special" or to be pitied or treated differently, she was a snotty pushy bitch. Chris even says "I used to hear that people with down syndrome were different from the rest of us but you're not. You're not different at all. You're just a bunch of assholes like everyone else!"

This. I still don't get how it was "making fun of" Palin's child, especially in the isolated quote being used in all the standard articles. It seems that to even mention "Sarah Palin has a child with Down's Syndrome" must mean you have an agenda and hate people with Down's Syndrome... unless you're Sarah Palin (or Palin-approved).

My beloved grandma used to say this. She was actually a bigshot in the Arkansas GOP up to Huckaabee. Lately, she called Beck a phony when he first was on FOX cuz of his "fake crying" and called Palin "stupid". I will not worry too much. Polls now show like 30% of ppl think Palin is fit to be prez. She's a partisan PC drama queen that can't take a joke at all. She gave Rush a pass when he called Democrats "retards". Because Rush is "satire" like she said. But attacks Family Guy who are the kings of satire. She makes no sense at all and is engaging in PC. Remember when she twisted Letterman's joke into him being a pedophile. She's full of shit. Family Guy is IMO a immoral comedy show that often takes advantage of people or situations for the capitilization of its own "success". I don't think it belongs on a basic/free network channel because of the exposure and commercial marketing. It is a bad cultural example, and if I were a Fox network manager I would have the integrity to at most have it running on a paid for cable channel that is not in anyway subsidized like PBS or the other basic network channels.

To defend myself from being misunderstood, I meant that we the people should not be allowing our governments to subsidize any network to broadcast anything. Free enterprise should supply content for individual purchase so that a television does not automatically have content displayed through subsidization once plugged into a electric outlet, as currently is in many areas. That is shoving it into the face of individuals, children the ones which concern me the most. And that is advantagouis to corporations like CBS, NBC, FOX, etc to promote their content through subsidation contracts. That is in my opinion not fair to free enterprise.

P.S. Down with the FCC and and control or subsidization of content that should be left to free enterprise and individual choice. Individuals should have to pay entirely for the channel or content they choose to watch.

If I were a writer for a show or a comedian right now, I would be inserting constant Palin jokes, no matter how unfunny. In fact, the less funny, the better. Because the humor at this point is not in the joke, but in the (virtually-guaranteed) public overreaction of Sarah. As we all know, it’s so much funnier to make jokes about the one who “can’t take a joke”. The situation at this point is truly hilarious, because it’s self-incurred. Previously, Sarah was only offended when the joke was real ridicule about her family and it was really funny. NOW, she has established that it has to be none of either for her to become offended. So she has created a situation where the mere mention of “the Palins” in context of anything vaguely resembling humor will be hysterically funny. It’s a writer’s/comic’s dream; no creativity needed – especially for up-and-coming shows and comics who need the free publicity.

“Hey, did you hear the one about the Palins?! The Palins and the Obamas walked into a bar. Knock, knock, who’s there? THE PALINS!!” (Crank up laugh-track)

Of course the most hysterical would be for “previous offenders” to do this (Letterman and Family Guy), but a flood of YT vids would be great too.

I agree mostly, but Family Guy and Seth MacFarlane definitely are much more generous to the left. They destroy the right. MacFarlane is a big Obama supporter.
