My oldest daughter is a Mother of 4. Her oldest is about 12 and youngest less than 2.

February 19, her husband of many years that she dearly loves, was involved in a rollover accident and was airlifted 150 miles from their home.

The Update on February 20:
"His spine has seen better days. He shattered every rib in the left side of his body and 2 ribs on the right. I don't remember the terminology, but not only are they broken in many places, they are detached and "floating". He has a collapsed lung.

Best case scenario according to the doctor tonight is 5-8 surgeries..he will be in the ICU for weeks. He will be hospitalized for months. He said he will likely never walk again. I hope he is wrong. Brett is a fighter."

Further Update February 22:
Doctors in Loveland CO said he will be paralyzed for life from the waist down.

They have a meeting today with Craig Hospital:
Craig Hospital is a world-renowned rehabilitation hospital that exclusively specializes in neurorehabilitation and research for individuals with spinal cord injury and brain injury.

Hopefully Craig Hospital will admit him and help him.

There is a Go Fund Me set up by the Hockey Team that his children play on and that He coaches several teams.
Any prayers or financial help would be appreciated.

Hope the long term out come is as good as can possibly be, he will need a lot of encouragement.

Thoughts and prayers to your family. I just found out Tuesday that my best friend since 2nd grade died in an accident.

Found out yesterday that he will be admitted to Craig.
He cannot go there until he is breathing better and his lung/ribs are farther along in recovery.

My daughter asked about prognosis and Craig Doctor asked if she was asking if Brett would ever walk again? Doctor said he will never walk his spinal cord was completely severed.

Supposedly after 2 months at Craig he will leave being 90% independent.

It sounds like his son Corbin age 12 is advocating on his Dad's behalf with the Hockey league. The Dad wants to continue coaching on a sled or something like that. I am not sure.
Sounds like people from his work have begun construction on a ramp at his house and it appears that his employer is wanting to retain his employment at some capacity when ready to return to work.
The kids were told that Daddy will never walk again.

Sounds like accident happened while turning into his driveway. Woman with dirty windshield, driving 80, and no washer fluid, that was driving into the sun, and couldn't see, hit the corner of his truck as he was making the turn. His truck rolled 3 times, he flew out passenger window, and landed on his chest. My daughter and 2 guys lifted the truck off of him while another person pulled him out from under it.

Pretty Amazing the Husband, Brett, has accepted he will never walk again. He is making plans for his new life and not feeling sorry for himself. Then the news is that unless he can breathe deeper and better he might succumb to pneumonia and die anyway.

I miss TER prayers...he had a real knack for distilling the spirit into human terms.

May the power of God almighty bless this man and his family, may He, in his infinite wisdom, ease their pain and suffering, may he grant healing and recovery to all, this we humbly pray, in the name of the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit, amen.

Please keep us posted.

ETA - The condition is called a "flail chest" or "flayed chest".

It is very serious but very treatable.

Prayers for a full recovery.

I did not know that TER died. When did this happen? I was thinking about bumping up a thread that he participated in with me just the other day. May he rip and his family be comforted.

Last I knew TER wasn't dead, he just wasn't posting here.
But it has been some time since I heard from him.

As always, my friend:

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Anti Federalist again.

Well said.

Like SS said, as far as I know TER is alive and well, just not active here anymore.

Just like way too many other good folks we've lost over the years.

Sadly TER is on an expedition searching for Danke , my guess is hell not be heard from again
