When, in decades to come, will we be known as the people who sunk the liberty movement in America because it didn't roll out the way we wanted it to, or will we be known as the people who lifted and upheld the liberty movement even when it was hard for us, even when it was unpleasant?

Now is NOT the time for the summer soldier, nor for the sunshine patriot. I dare say sir, if all things must be pleasant and according to your plan before we allow them to go forth, then please quit the field of battle and leave the struggle to those committed to the cause of liberty!

Did not the signers of the Declaration pledge their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor -- come what may? How many of our ideological brethren laid dying on the field in the hopes of securing liberty for their posterity?

Not all things will go the way we want! And if we become disgruntled and discouraged because OUR plans are not met, and thus sow discord into the ranks and files of those who would continue the eternal struggle for freedom, then do we not become more of an impediment to victory than a helper?

I say we need helpers come what may! But if someone would be only a summer soldier, or a sunshine patriot, then they need to crawl off the field of battle, depart from George Washington's army at Valley Forge, go home and crawl under a rock until the primaries. We don't WANT summer soldiers or sunshine patriots, for all they will serve to do is to discourage and disgruntle the rest of us.

Now it is time for you to choose which one you will be. Will you march through the snow with General Washington, bare tattered rags tied to your feet in lieu of shoes? A few grams of hardtack bread in your belly from two days ago, but committed to the cause? Or will you pout because your uniform is not pretty enough and go home?

The weather won't change for Boston on the 16th...I guarantee it...there are too many "what-IFs" involved and plans need to be finalized in the next 24 hours...there are more pieces to the puzzle than just the blimp.

We considered that but if we fly towards bad weather we could be trapped, grounded or even destroy the blimp. How would that help us rally in any effective way? We decided that the best 2nd choice would be a commitment to go someplace that will make a big impact for our customers and Ron Paul's name recognition.
 
What if you simply fly for five hours in the direction of Boston and then fly five hours back? Seriously, at the FIRST sign of bad weather you could turn around. I mean the very FIRST sign of bad weather. You could even have a vehicle MILES AHEAD of the blimp monitoring weather conditions. If they start to deteriorate you could then turn back.

Have you considered having scouts miles and miles ahead of the blimp with CB radios reporting weather conditions?

I think every extra MINUTE could be precious in getting the blimp to Boston in time.
 
New Hampshire is very important. That should be the number one priority. But for the next few days it can be in the south. It will be a good trial run to fly the blimp in warmer weather. The cold Northeast will be a difficult flight. Here is a map of the primaries.

On Feb 5 twenty states vote. We should have the blimp here possibly a few weeks before hand.

There is a cluster of states in the Southeast: Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee for 175 delegates, more than California and the big Florida on Jan 29.

Close to the Southern states is a cluster of Midwestern states where you could fly in four states in one or two days. Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri and Southern Illinois for over two hundred delegates. Plus you get annoy Fred Thompson and Huckabee.

There is a cluster of states in the Northeast on Feb. 5th.
New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts,

Research on cities and targeted demographics for Ron Paul should be continued.

Get that blimp to Bourbon Street for Jan 5th and 6th. LSU is playing the national championship game against Ohio State on Jan 7th
The place will be packed all weekend.

It is too frickin' cold in Iowa. When people are freezing cold, the last thing they do is look up into the sky.

Keep the blimp in the southern states, so people might actually see it.
 
Keep In Warmer Climates?

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but to me it seems the blimp is kind of unstable. Given the harshness of winters in New England, and the potential for more storms on the way, is it such a good idea to fly up to NH even after this current storm has passed? To me, it seems much more logical to fly down south. Why fly up to NH for the primary if the blimp will have to be grounded multiple times due to inclement weather, high winds, etc. Might as well get the most amount of fly time and go to areas where there is a warmer, milder climate. I realize the importance of flying around before the primaries in NH, but seeing that winter weather causes major probs for the blimp, maybe it would be best to rethink that idea.

I second this idea if Northeastern weather doesn't clear up in a few days. Warmer weather, lots of people in one place - not bad. :)
 
Yeah I think going to a city and having the rally near a large game would be a great idea. Lots of exposure.
