***Official Word on the Blimp's Friday Destination***

I am delighted to hear that the blimp will be in my hometown (Columbia) on Tea Party day.

I have several connections in the local media, and especially at The State newspaper, where I used to work. I will pull every string I can to make sure that they give this the coverage it deserves, especially in conjunction with the money bomb.

Columbia, South Carolina's capital city, is a great choice. South Carolina is a very important early primary state. This will boost Ron Paul to new heights across the south!

Northern Florida is nearby. The pan handle part of Florida could be good Ron Paul territory. Maybe the Blimp can hit Florida before it heads north. Jacksonville and Tallahassee are the northern part of Florida. Maybe the blimp can pick up Congressman Dr. Paul Broun, a constitution supporter while in Georgia. Dr. Paul Broun votes with Dr. Ron Paul on many issues.

i like the columbia, sc idea because it is an important primary state. i would like to add washington dc as a possible site for enhanced media coverage/large population center. flying around our nation's capital is another slap in the face at current government, and provides incredible photographic opportunities (over the capitol building, various monuments, etc.). i'm guessing the restricted airspace issue is tougher, but wanted to put in the plug. i think washington dc has much more msm impact than columbia, sc (no offense to south carolinians).

so a big recommendation for dc if possible. i also like philly for historic reasons, but hey, if all it does is get us a lot of votes in south carolina then i guess that isn't the end of the world

I like the idea of a complete southern tour for the first leg of the trip, since it's going to be down here anyways. It should Columbia, SC, then Atlanta, GA, then Montgomery, AL, then Nashville, TN, then New Orleans. After that it should loop its way northwards along the I-35 corridor in Texas. Cover Houston, Austin, Dallas, then move to oklahoma city and final up to Iowa where it can make an appearance for a few days. This would cover the cities where Ron Paul's support is greateest, and also some of the densest concentrations of Republican voters. After it loops up to Iowa, and if the remaining funds are raised, then It should go back to New Hampshire/ Boston/ New York (the whole megaopolis region) -- hopefully the weather will be clear by then

I'm looking back at all the chip ins I've donated to and trying to find if anything came of it, so far only one ad was actually published. That is hundreds upon hundreds of dollars I've donated to someone or something I don't know that just disappeared. Very frustrating.

I just saw they are still trying to raise money on the boston launch. How much of this is really going into the rEVOLution?

While the Blimp should have been in Boston the weather probably makes that impossible. The blimp can do a great job in the Southeast for the first few days and then head back to New Hampshire.

Many candidates are prepared to lose in Iowa and New Hampshire and hope to have a firewall setup in the South to save their campaigns. This has been done over and over again.

Going to South Carolina and other southern states for super tuesday puts an unknown factor into the election.
