Reactions from some folks I know on Facebook:
"i'm pissed. It just goes to show you, the south will never pick the best, they will pick the party"
"I'm pissed but I have hope! Demographics are changing and there are a lot of hardworking people all across the south, the midwest, and other traditionally conservative areas who fight for democratic values. Fingers crossed for better results next time around..."
"VA and NC already shifted from Republican to swing states. Georgia's on its way there too (give it till maybe the 2020 cycle). I wouldn't be shocked if SC's the next to fall (with the growing Charleston area)"
"special election in the house of representatives and they elected their asshole ex governor instead of the badass and wonderful elizabeth colbert busch"
Now I pointed out on one NBC report that if people could get over Bill Clinton's fun time, anything is possible, but needless to say some folks aren't pleased about it. Though pointing out that VA and NC shifted to swing states is interesting to note, especially considering 2014 and 2016 and whether that trend will continue.
