Official: Lew Rockwell Converts Naomi Wolf

Yeah to those in the thread that were kind of slamming with her for agreeing with Lew too much, the waking up is a pretty hard thing to do.

Plus, I think she is very sincere, especially when she is shocked like in the education portion/children brainwashing/dumbing down.

I finished this earlier tonight and think this is a wonderful, wonderful interview. I recommend it to everyone on this board! :D

favorite line by Naomi so far: "Waking up to this reality is very painful"

+1 for the brushfires of liberty

She wasn't even prompted... she just blatantly comes out and asks...

So it's a bit like...
eektx4.gif

Has she given links to, or even mentioned the podcast on her site? Surely if she has had an epiphany, just like the rest of us have; you immediately, as you do - want to represent the truth as you know it! And to tell others about it!

A simple thing to do would to be to ask her about the dept. of education in a few weeks...

There lies your answer. If she supports it; she is FAIL.. otherwise; great she's probably sincere. I'm guessing she would take the middle ground... not denounce it (as she should), but leave it hanging...

Ah well.. if she/they wanted to appear as if she was coming round to the libertarian way of thinking (one of the biggest markets out there for HER book.....) and pretty much her target market... then she did the marvelous thing of trying to destroy the 'left wing' tag she has attached to her.

In all honesty, being a cynical bastard - and rightly so, I think this is exactly what happened... I wonder how many libertarians who heard that, went and purchased the book, who otherwise would have dismissed her as an devout obama supporter; and clueless to the real problems.. Well anyway, it remains to be seen. She has far from proven herself in any regard.

SO FAR, she speaks of the problems (half true).. i.e it was only *Bush's fault* so her solutions have absolutely no bearing on reality and are not in fact, 'solutions' because they aren't addressing the problems.

All that being said; I own her book. It's on my shelf. Hmmm k.

Who the hell would want to be a conservative?
LOL.

I'm sure not you, Joseph, and that's a good thing. ;)

I'd rather be a classical liberal, conservatives were the 19th century reactionaries. Watch Rothbard on the subject
Actually, I have and even personally talked to him about the subject. He had respect for libertarian-conservatives, even though he didn't agree with them on all aspects. Libertarian-conservatives want a very limited Constitutional government; while Rothbard wants NO government whatsoever.

BTW.... Being a Classical Liberal is quite different than being a Libertine, Joseph. :)

Watch this NOW

When did I say I'm a libertine? That's just more insults from you.

How did you get to talk with him? If I recall correctly, you went to school in Oklahoma, not at the Ludwig von Mises Institute, which is located in Alabama.

No TW, libertarian-conservatives (traditional conservatives) do not have much of anything in common with the so-called "social conservatives". Social conservatives are actually really leftists, since they believe in using big government force to cram their unconstitutional agenda down everyone's throat.

No. I don't take orders. :p

Ever heard of airplanes and conferences? Apparently, Rothbard did and so did I.

When? That must've been like 50 years ago.

You better watch that, LE. hahaha.

Why would Rothbard just meet with anyone on the street? He's been dead for awhile anyway. Why didn't you record it?

No, not really. But some of us actually are older than 14 (or 24) and some of us even live out on our own. ;)

ha. hey, if you can get away with it, why not? My mom doesn't even want me to leave. Maybe if you had a more loving family, you'd know what I'm talking about... ;)

So I keep 100% of what I earn, minus taxes. it's a good deal.

Power to ya, Joseph. :) As you mature though, I'll bet you'll want to get out on your own.
