Basically. I wonder if Obama saw this coming. By allowing it stand as a tax, it opens the door for full fledged Universal Healthcare.

Universal Healthcare / Federal single payer is completely "Constitutional" under the interpretation and precedent that the supreme court has made in this ruling and in the past.

The ratifiers never ever had something like this in mind when they ratified the Constitution. How could anyone possibly think that they did? The Federal government has no power to run healthcare.

But acknowledging this truth would mean social security, medicare, food stamps and about 90% of what the federal government does is unconstitutional. And that will never ever happen.

We are going down hill and fast, no matter what party is in power, and there is no way of turning back now.

That may be true, but they don't have a military force in Afghanistan or Iraq and they don't start wars in Libya or Syria!

No the Constitution is not a dangerous document. Do you people read history ? The founders knew that the Constitution would only serve honest and good men.
They knew if those men became corrupt the Constitution would not stand. It has nothing to do with the document.

Can anybody here make a document that will change the nature of man so he will not be corrupt ?

There were 2 main bodies of thought that got together in the founding days. One side wanted just states, no powerful central government, no president and no official central city where that power would be housed.

Needless to say the side above did not win. But regardless they were correct.

Ultimately, people get the government they deserve. If we have anyone to blame, just look in the mirror. The people of the US are getting the government they deserve and unless you change the people we will continue to get this same government.

A lot (and I mean a LOT) of non-liberty types hate Obamacare. The USSC has just handed the liberty movement the most ammunition we have had in a long time. Now the liberty movement needs to move for a repeal of the 16th Amendment and require the Federal government to revert to it's historical way of raising funds by apportionment among the states and duties.

Now that it is constitutional Romney will just say he will be repealing it. Yeah right. But what will he propose instead? He doesn't have a substitute because the law is constitutional. What that means is that he will not be repealing it, period. He will just reinforce it. He will make us slaves of our own states. And slaves to doctors, hospitals, insurance companies and loan sharks.

You just have lost your house and all your assets to the doctors, hospitals, insurance companies and loan sharks. Why? Because few people will be able to afford healthcare in all its ramification. Which means you will owe your health to those who will repair it. And they will collect.

We need an "ampero" ammendment to the US Constitution in which a citizen has the ability to individually challenge the unconstitutionality of any law and put some bite into each citizen grievence.
