Official Health Care Ruling Thread (Obamacare upheld)

As a government tax then Romney will give lip service to a repeal but for all effects he will not be working to repeal it and will repeal it at all. He is for transferring taxes to the states so he will rework the healthcare law to obligate people to buy health insurance as they are prescribed by the states.

The law will not be able to create a one size fits all healthcare program for the nation. That means business as usual which makes healthcare unaffordable to most people in the country.

The doctors win and the hospitals win and the insurance companies win and the people lose. Big government now gets super big.

Just 3 days ago, I got a donation request from the George W. Bush Presidential Library!!! Talk about foreshadowing this travesty. They should firebomb the structure once it's built.

Further proof that the Constitution is irrelevant except as a tool of state propaganda. The autocratic state can do literally anything it pleases to its citizens without exception.

American Liberty is delivered yet another heavy-fisted body blow.

How many more can it take?

I'm still trying to decide if an overturn decision helps or hurts Romney.
It will only hurt if we remind them that Roberts was a conservative judge. That we need a president who will deconstruct the socialist policies, not just manage them.

In light of the SCOTUS ruling - "But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain — that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist." -- Lysander Spooner

Yet another reason why a piece of paper cannot constrain the state.

This is the last nail in the coffin for the US. There will be a financial collapse. This seals the deal. This country needs a new government anyhow - a restart - there is no way of solving these problems politically at this point. There has to be a complete collapse and break up. But there will be lots of pain.

The courts and the whole government are corrupt to the bone. They are a joke. They are also illegitimate IMO.

This is going to speed up the whole process me thinks.

"Take a quick look at Footnote 11, which is on page 44 of the slip opinion: Those subject to the individual mandate may lawfully forgo health insurance and pay higher taxes, or buy health insurance and pay lower taxes. The only thing that they may not lawfully do is buy health insurance and not pay the resulting tax. "

This ruling is a big victory for Ron Paul and the liberty movement. It paves the way for the creation of a "Ron Paul Party." It paves the way for the Liberty Movement to grow big. It also paves the way for the Tea Party to grow and for the Libertarian Party to grow.

It is basically a business as usual ruling that makes government the ruler over our lives and make rich people and rulers, like doctors and hospitals and insurance companies our bosses and our masters. To fight that we need to create "The Ron Paul Party." Simple.

Does anyone else think that this completely opens the door for a single-payer system?

Absolutely and that was always the goal. Premiums and med costs will go through the roof at an even quicker pace, the gov will demagogue "those evil insurance companies" and the feds will nationalize the entire healthcare industry.

The first mistake of the constitution is not letting individuals to secede from addition of overreaching government power.
