OFFICIAL 10/9/2016 Presidential Debate Thread

He's still a 4-1 underdog. Just pointing out that he clearly did well for himself.

I don't pay any attention to the betting markets. Look how far off they were on Brexit. It's basically a snapshot of if the election were held today, it's not very good for forecasting.

I watched bits and pieces-from what I watched it looks like Trump didn't do very well defending his character- there's going to be some really shit Trump polls coming out soon that are going to make the RNC shit bricks.

For several election cycles back in the 1980s and early 1990s there was some guy who ran for office because the media could not censor the content of his commercials. He hates abortion as bad as many of us do, and his whole point was to get people to see what happens to babies when they are aborted. His commercials were truly frightening, but they made a point he would not have made without being a candidate for office.

I say this very carefully. I will always appreciate that Donald Trump ran for President because he has said many of the things Americans have been screaming at their TVs forever. He has said things I have written to my elected representatives and in letters to the editor. He stood on the stage and said things the media will not say and refuse to cover. He was fighting Clinton and the media, but he became the media because he was the one delivering the message that Hillary Clinton is a career criminal and he put it out there for everyone to see. If there is another debate, I hope he brings this game in the way he did tonight. I am not a Trump supporter, but I appreciate what he did in this debate.

I made it 45 mins in and had to stop watching. How can either of these two possibly lead the free world?

i am just the opposite. I only pay attention the prediction markets. They weren't that far off on Brexit. I followed Brexit. The different markets had leave at about a 25-35% chance.

The markets are more accurate than any paid television pundit. Trump with a 19% chance seems about right or maybe a little high.

Didn't they have it at like 10-20% at one point? They also gave Trump little chance in the primaries. We will see how the polls are a week from now, and the betting markets will follow that.

Betting markets follow the press more than the polls, because the polls come 3+ days after the press.

Hillary paraphrase ; . . . Abe made me do it -lol
