That's the beauty of partisanship. The fact that your opponents have no morals is all the excuse you need to have no morals -- even if the other party stopped doing the moral thing on this particular issue originally because your party showed them how.

There's no competition in a contest where different people get to play by different sets of rules and get to win by "default".

This is a winners take all contest and you call it moral to forfeit. There's simply no morality in surrendering without fighting.

Just because they call us the bad guys doesn't mean we have to surrender to their rule.

Texas seems to finally be waking up to this fact. For decades we've had a Republican majority and yet we've let Democrats walk all over us.

I looked around and couldn't find any threads/posts on what's happening in Texas. I guess it's just become mundane for the Democrats to leave the state so that no quorum exists in which legislative action can be taken.

I guess it's just become mundane for the Democrats to leave the state so that no quorum exists in which legislative action can be taken.

Saw something a few days ago to the effect that Texas is withholding absent Democrats' paychecks unless they come get them in person.

They've done this many times over decades. They usually hide in Oklahoma. And we say, there goes the neighborhood again.

Illinois lost a Congressional seat after the 2020 census - and it was a safe Republican seat. My corner of a safe Republican district was moved to a safe Democratic district. And most of the formerly safe republican districts are now much more competitive.
