The country is in term oil and cannot survive without the US presence. It is recommend to stay for a decade... and when asked about having Iraq pay for the war debt or current costs, "Not one cent will be going to the US expenses incurred. The Iraqis need to rebuild their infrastructure. Amb. Jefferies went on to advise the committee that Iraqi oil production could hit 8-9 million barrels a day and maybe someday even exceed the Saudi's oil production.

Excellent thread to the TS. I don't think I ever posted in this when it came out in 2010. But yes, it's been almost a year since the day Obama said we would have troops out of Iraq, yet we still have plenty over there! So about 28 months after being in office, Obama has yet to bring our troops home!
