The government forces American school children to attend government schools and learn statist propaganda. Every American is forced to tithe to the state school system even if they oppose it or if they do not have children in the schools. *Nothing* like this force and confiscation exists with churches...even with the idea of exemptions. Apples and oranges.

I'm not so sure. Even if the church is not receiving money they are still paying less than they would otherwise. Would you consider orn farmers not getting taxed on crops as a form a subsidies? I have little to no knowledge about all this.. why exactly do churches not pay taxes.. is there a legit reason or is it just special privilege?

The government paid off Churches to shut up about politics by offering 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Churches will lose the 501(c)(3) status if they get political. (Gotcha!)

There are plenty of non-501(c)(3) churches out there.

Well, like I said, I don't agree that churches should become little pets of the state where they can't speak out on political issues just to ensure the IRS stays off their back a little bit, anyway. So you have no argument from me that churches shouldn't be 501c3 entities.

But I'm just saying tax exemptions and the coercive force of the education monopoly are not the same thing. Churches are voluntary. Government schools are not. Churches are not funded through confiscatory taxation. Government schools are.

parents used to know that it was there responsibility to educate their own children. now, "concerned" parents just complain about how the state instructs their children (or even about mundane topics like the nutritional content of cafeteria food). the state doesn't care about your children, people -- never has, never will. the goal of the state is to train your children to behave in ways that cause the state the least trouble (how effectively the state accomplishes its goal isn't a debate that I'm even interested in). if you care about your children, you will take full responsibility for your children's education, no matter the inconvenience.

They view their chattel as nothing more than animals and these courses are proof-positive of this disdain. Do whatever feels good and forget about the man behind the curtain. Porn is the same way. I read an article a while back that stated the biggest problem in Churches today is "porn addiction". Now thats should tell us something. Sexual perversion is pushed on kids from an early age and by age 20 they are full blown addicts.

Are you saying you haven't noticed that morality in our society has gotten worse and worse with each passing year? Because I sure have noticed it. And no, it wasn't always the case that teenage sex was acceptable or the norm.

No kidding. I mean just look at the people who they have given their own reality TV show, or even shows like Bad Girls. They aren't exactly good examples to be putting out there for young people, well, anyone.

I've got to side w/ specs on this one. We as a society have been coddling people as children who should not be considered children. Good grief, why do I hear people refer to college students as kids? Why do we allow 'college kids' to be covered as dependents for health insurance?

Also, I'm not convinced that morality HAS gotten worse. Look at what went into tar and feathering. People went picnicking to watch the civil war. Look at what the KKK did to people.

Actually, I was thinking about High School "kids" when I wrote that. I don't describe college students as kids.

You side with him on what? You think it has been and is the norm for children to be having sex?
