So I take it this is NOT for Ron Paul, it is for some guy of whatever background?

Sorry I don't know. Have you checked Meetup.com? We're having one final event on Dec. 7th here in district 5. I'll go, but I think I've tapped out all of the Ron Paul supporters who've been showing up to things like this. :( I went out door to door on Sunday afternoon, and today I went to Wholefoods in Nashville. That was probably my best result (15+ signatures in 45 minutes.) How many sigs does your friend have so far? My suggestion would be to find some other supporters in district 8 who don't mind helping in a last ditch effort, divide up his sheets and spread out.

What makes you think that? Right now in Tennessee Ron Paul supporters are facing a very real deadline to get Ron Paul delegates on the ballot. If we are unsuccessful in this then theoretically Ron Paul could win TN but still not get any delegates because Bachmann/Cain/Romney delegates would be the ones chosen to go to the convention on his behalf. Getting this finished is crucial.

NO, it IS for Ron Paul, it's hard being a district delegate, at-large is so much easier because you can get signatures from anywhere in the state, which is what I ran and I have enough signatures, but some of the district people do not.

Hang in there! Here's another trick I realized today. For moral support I'll typically collect signatures with at least one other person. Remember that the same person can sign multiple petitions. To save time if we get one person to fill out a petition, I'll ask that person to just sign the other and tell them will transfer the rest of the information. People seem to appreciate that.

Is it legal to get signatures on Government property?

Yes. And even if it wasn't its better to ask forgiveness than permission in this circumstance. I've only been run off of one place (a Kroger and the entrance was pretty crowded). But it's not like they called the cops or anything. If I see a "no solicitation sign" posted I won't collect, even though I'm not really soliciting.

I'm in TN and have 4 or 5 family members that could sign, is that worthwhile for just 5 or 6 signatures?

I'm in Brentwood - Davidson county.

I'm pretty sure that he's looking for people who live in Tennessee's 8th Congressional District only.

I'm in District 5. Shoot yeah I could use those signatures! I know someone else who could as well. I'll PM you.

JMDrake, How many signatures do you have/ still need?

I'm right at 100, maybe a little more. (I left a sheet with a friend at WholeFoods who was still collecting). Technically I have enough, but I know some are bad (forgot to ask a few times if people were in my district) so I want to get as close to 147 as possible. If I get at least to 130 I'll feel comfortable. So I guess I still need 30.
