No One But Paul. I meant it.

For me in MI, writing in RP or GJ is basically a protest vote against Mitt. So, picking one or the other isn't really that meaningful to me. It's so weird seeing no LP slot for top of ticket yet they're in nearly every other race. My most worthwhile vote was for Bentivolio to fill Thad's last few months.

That's another thing that bothers me about Johnson. He could have easily made it on the ballot as a Libertarian, but he waited until the last possible minute. There might have been some shenanigans keeping him off the ballot, but if he was really serious, he could have easily dropped out sooner or just ran as Libertarian from the beginning.

Is that a Florida ballot? I see Connie Mack there who is running for US Senate in Florida. I thought early voting hadn't started yet...I can't vote until Saturday here in South Florida

Tonight in the third party debate; Gary Johnson "my hero Ron Paul". THAT sealed the deal for me right there. Ron Paul is NOT on my ballot. Gary Johnson is. If I write Ron Paul on my ballot my vote actually might not be counted. If I vote for Gary Johnson my vote has a 99% chance of being counted (figuring for possible voter fraud).
I agree with Gary Johnson on 94% of his policies compared to 97% of Ron Paul's policies, compared to 59% of ROmney's and 4% of Obama's. I can cast my vote guilt free for Gary Johnson despite my deep long standing committment to NOBP. I also believe that if I had an honest discussion with Ron Paul himself, he would support my choice.

Your vote is your own.

That sealed the deal for me. I'm going to vote Gary Johnson, who has always had the utmost praise for Paul. Whether there is a split between GJ and writing in Paul, the positive side is that neither the GOP or DNC are receiving our votes.

Yes it is a Florida ballot, I am military stationed in Korea. I voted for Mack, against my better judgement. I gave Rand the benefit of the doubt on that one.

Here is the easy part of mine, now I have to fill in the bubble sheet on the other votes.

vote ron paul 2012.JPG

Also, from what I've read, Ron Paul's votes WILL be counted in CA!! (I read that after I voted, so it is extra sweet!)

Here in Ohio it appears the voting machines (touch screen) are pre-programmed with some write-in candidates, and Ron Paul isn't one of them.

So, if it turns out that I can't write Ron Paul in, I'll vote reluctantly for Gary Johnson because while he is no Ron Paul, he is a darn sight better than Rmoney and Obombya and for this election anyway is probably adequate. I figure a protest vote that is counted is worth more than not voting at all; if the results come back with Johnson getting a significant percentage it will cause a buzz whereas if the apparent turnout is just low but nearly everyone votes for the big two then there will be no buzz.

If you go through these results it looks like Ohio counts undervotes (see the supreme court election) but if you would prefer to vote for GJ than to be in the none of the above category, it is certainly your decision: http://www.co.wyandot.oh.us/boardofelections/2012 Election Results/March Primary Results.pdf

The only reason to vote GJ is to get the Libertarian Party automatic ballot access for the next election as a way of pressuring the GOP to move towards liberty policies.

Exactly, and that is a good thing, breaking up the "twin party system" duopoly. If he gets 5% nationally he could qualify for federal election campaign funding in 2016.

don't come into Ron's subforum of the Ron Paul forum and try to argue his supporters out of voting for him.

Who's arguing? I am stating my opinion just like the 96 other posts before me have done. If anything your police mentality about people speaking their minds here is going to alienate folks under the feelings of 'if you don't vote for RP EVEN WHEN HE'S NOT RUNNING' you can't be a Liberty supporter. He's. Not. Running. He WANTS to retire and he has certainly done all he could and more for this movement, so let those here who want to try to make a difference by supporting a good candidate who is running do just that. I feel I would have taken less grief if I said I support Obama...

I fought very hard in the primary; giving of time and money, flying and driving across the country repeatedly for Ron Paul, so you are not going to guilt me into anything.

Maybe you should ask yourself, Who do you think Ron Paul is voting for on Tuesday? He's not an Obama guy, not nearly shallow enough to write-in his own name, and despite the publicized friendship of Romney I doubt he's got Ron's vote, since he didn't get his endorsement.

I don't care about your guilt, but there is an organization to this board. Also, Ron Paul specifically said writing him in was fine if people were fed up, and I posted that video earlier in the thread. I have no idea who Ron will vote for, other than it will not be for Romney or Obama.

He has also on multiple occasions said he was going to continue speaking out on these issues. He may be retiring from the House, but he is not retiring from public life.

Also, I am NOT the one saying YOU can't vote for anyone you want.

Wow i made a post on here last night saying the reason to vote libertarian is that if we get 5% of the national vote the party gets 20million in federal campaign funds like the other 2 big parties. That voting for RP is a protest vote and doesnt advance anything.

Well that post gets deleted by a moderator because he doesnt like what other people have to say. These forums are to promote liberty! I gave a lot of time and money to RP's campaign but a write in campaign is just a protest vote that doesnt help spread the liberty message. Ron Paul ran for president as a libertarian in 88. He believes in the party's message. He certainly wouldnt advocate for deleting a post just because you dont like what someone has to say. Thats what a draconian government does.

Also. What will you do next election if RP doesnt run? Will you write him in then as well?
