No One But Paul. I meant it.

I wrote in Ron Paul in 2008 but this time I will be voting Gary Johnson for the reasons you stated above. I want my vote to be noticed by the GOP and I think that is best accomplished by not writing in a vote that may not even be counted.

Americans 18+ of age:
  • 29% voted McCain
  • 33% voted Obama
  • 38% did not bother with the charade

Imagine if the 38% actually bothered voting for any candidate other than the Republicrats.

I agree as well. If the Third Party (Libertarian) can hit double digits, even 10%, I think it would be a change of pace in the right direction and a fact that's hard to hide.

Just do it

You know you want to.....

AND, a great idea from AF, to bring a sticky note and leave it on the voting booth, and write his name across the ballot, enjoy casting this vote for NOBP.

Why did you vote down R74 and vote yes on I502? I502 is a HORRID law that will only serve to make a mockery of legalisation, and whose right is it of the government to tell people who can and cannot marry?

For me in MI, writing in RP or GJ is basically a protest vote against Mitt. So, picking one or the other isn't really that meaningful to me. It's so weird seeing no LP slot for top of ticket yet they're in nearly every other race. My most worthwhile vote was for Bentivolio to fill Thad's last few months.

I struggled with that, and am still struggling with it. I know it sounds hypocritical. My thought is that pot is going to be regulated just like tobacco and alcohol whether we like it or not and any step towards ending the catastrophic war on drugs is important. More important than gays being able to marry by far in my book. Thus the comprimise on pot and not gay marriage.

So why do you oppose I-502? This ballot hasn't been sent in, talk to me.

I'm gone for a while but will look to see if you responded when I'm back.

voted for 1-502 and gay marriage...i despise social conservatives.

With 502 it says the DUI aspect will be in determining a DUI under the influence of pot by setting a test limit...meh...big deal. Just the fact that this passes will be a message that Washington State voters want pot legalized and taxed....thats good enough for me. Any blowback from this can be addressed down the road. Meanwhile, lets get this on the books as i stated.

Because it gives the police powers to give blood tests to drivers so that they can collect revenue and violate the 4th amendment. Also it will hurt the medical marijuana scene when the dea raids despensaries and co-ops because of this.

i'm not seeing a problem. Its not a good idea anyway to be getting behind the wheel whether drunk, on painkillers, zanax, or cannibis, although, i'm not believing pot drivers will have that much to worry about. Usually people drive while they have done some or all of the drugs available i listed...and others, but just a pot smoker?...it will be a rare occurence. The FEDS and LEO'S have already decided to make pot busts a low priority anyway....

The way I see it, I have three options:

Stay home.

Write-in RP.

Vote GJ.

I should know this, but does anyone know if write-ins are counted in NH? If they are, I'll definitely write-in RP. Otherwise, I'll probably stay home.

In NH you pretty much certainly have Paulers down-ballot to vote for. Even if you leave POTUS blank, the down-ballot Paulers could sure as hell use your vote. I see posts like this it annoys me because if our own people can't be bothered to research the candidates what hope do we have to save America? I see posts like this from...New Hampshire...and it doesn't just annoy me it pisses me right off, because I am confident that pretty much every ballot in NH has a Pauler on it somewhere down-ballot and you can't be freaking bothered to support the R3volution locally where it matters most!

pot stays in your system for up to a month at the concentration they have for a DUI you could have smoked two weeks before and have several times that in your system

I wonder if someone could set up a forum for each state telling who the Ron Paul people are in the local races? Some guidance would be helpful. Or at least put out links to our local CFL chapters so we can ask them...Maybe it's already been done?

You are wrong about that. While the best cannabis will make you high for a maximum of 6 to 8 hours, THC metabolites can remain in your blood for 3-4 weeks, and will easily trigger a DUI 2 whole weeks after smoking when the high lasts a maximum (for the best cannabis in the world) of 8 hours. When it comes to blood tests for cannabis, if you smoke more than 1 joint per month, you can pretty much count on giving up driving altogether, because even stone-cold sober your blood will tell the judge you are stoned out of your gourd.

Well, here in NC there are local groups, meetups, C4L orgs, and Pauler delegates groups where this stuff is talked about a lot. There is no 'official' listing of R3volution candidates, but if you are plugged in to local Paulers AT ALL you will know your down-ballot R3volution candidates.

My best suggestion would be to locate and spend time with your state, district, and county R3volution and ask them who is on the ballot to vote for and why. Chances are you will get more information than you want or need, but will be able to make an informed vote to be sure.

It's supposed to be a different test for DUI - when they test your blood, they are looking for active THC, not metabolites. That breaks down in a matter of hours. The only time I've seen those given is when people go to the hospital after a car accident. I'm not sure if they can even administer those in the field.

The immunoassay tests on urine check for the metabolites, which stay around longer.

i'm still not seeing anything that would warrant a problem. If what you're saying is true, and i'm not disputing that, it would seem to me that courts will be full, traffic stops lining the hiways, jails full of people, no one getting to work, and i would think this might be the real problem...over-zeolous judicial sending local economies into chaos and clogging the courts with bullshit.

I've never heard of such a test. Indeed, I've never known such a test to be possible. Would be interested in learning more about this.

Most folks would have to choose between medicating themselves and never driving again, or driving but suffering with the condition that cannabis could easily relieve. It's a serious enough problem to me.

They typically use either mass spectrometer or gas chromatography - those can tell you 'everything' that is in the sample (blood, urine, whatever). But it is expensive. Labs that test urine for metabolites with the immunoassay will send samples to MS/GC for confirmation if they get a positive reading.

My guess is if they want to field test for DUI, they will put something in the weed to make it easier and less expensive.
