This reminds me of an article I read (I believe in the WSJ) about North Korea "splurging on luxury" because there were three, decades-old, Lincoln limousines in a parade ushering in their new dictator, as though it was unusual that Kim Jong Eun wasn't being escorted to his palace in a hay-lined wheelbarrow. I lost a bit of respect for the WSJ after running this piece, as it was an insult to my intelligence for them to assume I would believe that a few Lincoln limousines from the 1990s is a sign of outlandish spending for the supreme ruler of any nation.
The example here with Dr. Paul is especially ridiculous, and in my view only discredits the imbeciles who wrote the piece (and I am amazed that it took two of them). It discredits them because they had an opportunity to challenge the ideas of Dr. Paul, and they chose to merely attack his character with a low brow hit-piece. Of course, to challenge his ideas would be to first understand his ideas and then have better ideas, but that is clearly beyond the scope of Mr. Blackridge's and Mr. Braun's journalistic talents.
And how disappointing it is for me, to be a supporter of Ron Paul who thirsts for actual criticisms and debates of his ideas, if only for the sake of education and open-mindedness. That is all I ask for, yet I am served these absurd allegations of hypocrisy simply because Ron Paul is not the caricature that the media and the uninformed expect him to be.
