*** NEVADA STATE CONVENTION CONTINUES SUNDAY ****

If they are bound then 20 of them have to vote for Romney on the first ballot in Tampa. If they are unbound then they can vote for whoever they want.

I don't know why they'd bind 20 to Romney. The caucus had a bunch for Santa and Grinch. It would give 2 less to Ron to do it that way but 5 less to Romney, and if it won't be our plurality anyhow.... seems to me Santa and Grinch are more likely to be unbound on first ballot than Romney.

Look, people. The campaign has a plan that will work and it does not matter if delegates are bound to execute that plan.

If you've been paying attention long enough you know what that plan is.

All that matters is that the delegates who go to the RNC are Liberty Campaign and/or Paul supporters.

I'm not going to spell it out because it is a bad idea to tip our hands to the Romney camp at this time.

Talk on another forum (don't know where they got their info) that Romney was going to have Nevada delegates not seated at the Tampa convention. Not sure if that is the same as decertifying delegates ala MA, but if Romney is going to fight to get the delegates tossed I don't see any reason not to fight for every inch we can get during the NV convention.

Even if they would stay bound for Gingrich or Santorum it wouldn't matter to us. As long as they keep Romney from winning on the first ballot.

Amen to this.

It REALLY gets old, all the naysayers on here saying "Ron Paul/ the official campaign sold out / cut a deal/ etc., etc."

Ron Paul has dedicated his LIFE to advancing the cause of liberty, including spending THIRTY YEARS being ridiculed and ignored in Congress by TRAITORS to this country.

So relax, Ron Paul DAMN WELL knows what is going on.

Thats not the case! They can ABSTAIN on the first round and the state delegate chair will be a Paulbot so he will report the abstaintions, I guess!

All he needs is our support.

From what I can gather it seems the plan is for the RP delegates to abstain on the first ballot in Tampa, thereby preventing Romney from getting the 1144 that he would need. Is that possible? Is abstaining possible? If so it makes complete sense to remain bound because Ron Paul delegates wouldnt get the 1144 to win on the first ballot anyway, even if all RP delegates were unbound. Better to play nice and reach out to the other candidates delegates and win them over for the second ballot.

I suppose its a Nevada GOP rule that candidates that suspended their campaign dont get bound delegates.

Secretary says delegates will NOT be allowed to vote present or abstain. Doing so will revoke delegate status. Alt. would replace 'em #nvgop

Facts are that some ..bunce and others want to climb a gop ladder that does not exist. They gop establishment will not ever selcome us. We need to continue to show up and take party positions. We should not care if it pisses off eztablishment. I want to elect Ron Paul president. We need to attack now.

Bound is bound, even if they dont vote it get s counted.

The states delegate chair will be Pro-Paul. He is responsible for reporting the state vote to RNC convention chair. Thats the point. And states HAVE THE RIGHT to vote before they submit the result.

Indeed, Ron has waited for 30 years to get to the level of influence the liberty movement has right now in the Republican party. In his mind he can probably wait for another 4 years. Ron might never be president, but I assume that he would love to see one in the liberty movement to become president in his lifetime.

sounds right to me.
