Musk Advocates to Double H-1B Visas

Any attempt to do that will be met with this:

Same old propaganda tactics.

"We condemn this terrible, awful, shocking, deplorable, sickening, outrageous <insert hate category here>! It is so disgusting, we will not repeat it, or even quote what was said. You will just have to imagine how horrible it was."

So the new 2025 Trump admin/GOP Republicans wants to turn America into another Canada?

I work with them. You're simply wrong, not just in individual cases, across the board.
This conflicts with everything everyone else who works with them says about them, many people who work with them have absolute horror stories about their incompetence, and their culture of cheating for degrees is well established even in mainstream sources.

Agreed, but this is really because freedom naturally outcompetes slavery (watch the movie 300 to see why... that story really happened, by the way). Freedom doesn't need "help" from other slavery in the form of domestic protectionist regulations. That's how the globalist slave-masters who have been wreaking tyranny and oppression on the Old World for thousands of years get their hooks into you. If you (generic) believe in Freedom, act like it!!
No, freedom does not naturally outcompete slavery if it allows slavery to be used against it, history is dominated by slavery not by freedom.
Freedom is only superior when it protects itself from slavery.
It's the globalists who want to erase national and cultural borders and import slaves to suppress free people everywhere.
Nationalism is the fence that keeps the globalists from taking over the world and they have been trying to destroy it incrementally for centuries, first by creating larger states (forcing any opponents to also get larger to resist), and then by creating massive regions like the EU and pushing directly for globalism and the elimination of trade, immigration, and political barriers.

You misunderstand the story of the 300 Spartans, they fought a nationalist battle to keep a slave based empire out of their territory.

I have seen that underbelly of the H1B program, as well. It seems like it was a program that was once working but got broken over time. In my early career, all my H1B friends were as American as blue-jeans and Cadillacs. A decade or so later, I began to see issues with very robotic-minded people coming in through the H1B program. No actually profit-oriented corporation is looking for robots in their engineering departments (useless deadweight!) Therefore, there must be other reasons why these people are being imported, besides actual profitability (DEI bribes, etc.)
It never worked for Americans, it always worked against us and for globalism.
And you are now contradicting yourself above where you claimed the H1Bs were not useless and incompetent.
And there will always be abuse and subversion of this kind of program, so even if we pretend they could be good they must not exist.

That's a separate issue from H1Bs. The H1B program wasn't about Indians in particular, it was a program for pipelining in truly high-skilled people who actively want to immigrate here. I have no doubt the globalist Dems have twisted the program around to their advantage as much as possible, at the cost of Americans. But nukes are not the first weapon to reach for in every argument. Start with the small hammer first, and work your way up...
Trump promised to eliminate H1B in 2016 and it was a major reason people supported him, even though it was not nearly as bad yet back then.
Most H1Bs are from India, and almost are of similar quality and working for the same cabal using them all to dispossess the natives.
And what Musk and Ramaswammy dared to propose was to eliminate the country caps which would result in a near monopoly on H1Bs for India.

Ah yes good to see Musk matching Trump's long-held policy proposal to... *checks notes* ... pay H-1B workers more.

Yes, as part of his reforms (which were headed towards eliminating the program) Trump issued rules requiring better pay for them so that the incentive to import them for cheap labor would be reduced.

I totally agree. The only thing they need to fix is to make sure the government doesn't make it more or less expensive to hire foreigners. I've heard there's tax incentives to use H1-Bs which is stupid.

The thing most everyone here is missing is how overregulated and overtaxed our businesses already is. We're running a trillion dollar a year trade deficits because we can't compete. We need to reduce taxes and regulations not pile on more of them.

Fix the taxes and regulations, don't enable them by importing slaves and destroying the middle and working class natives.

Exactly -- this is the difference between mainstream (garbage) economics, and Austrian economics. In mainstream economics, profit is a number; in Austrian economics, profit is inherently psychological (subjective) -- "one man's trash is (literally) another man's treasure." But again, the RINO meatheads at the helm of the R-party have no patience for such pencil-necked academic subtlety. They're at the helm, and that fact alone proves that they're right about everything... "if we're so wrong, how come we're in charge and running everything?" This is the same carnal blindness that has put the eyes out of every ruler who is not subject to the Gospel kingdom. The ideals, values and arguments that these men champion as the path forward are nothing but reworded Marxist talking-points that were whispered in their ears by the worm-tongued neoCONs.

We agree there has to be a border, and the rule of law must be enforced. The COSMIC-SCALE ELEPHANT in the room that NOBODY will talk about is welfare and government handouts of all kinds. The dopey RINOs won't talk about them because "that's a losing issue for us", the neoCONs won't talk about them because that's their wheelhouse, and the rest of the Right won't talk about them because they're being spun in circles like circus seals by the narratives spun by the neoCON string-pullers. Kill the elephant and your border will be instantly secure, without the need to build one more inch of border fence. I'm not opposed to the border fence if it has to be there, but the real reason that you need a fence is because of the giant fountains of freebies sloshing out of the DC Swamp. If you really want a secure border so bad, tear down the welfare-state! (including the MIC/corporate-welfare-state!!)

We need the fence because OUR PEOPLE built a vastly better society and economy that everyone else wants to come and swipe a piece of, the welfare makes it worse, but it's not the primary cause.

It is the RINO meatheads who support H1B because it makes number go up and that is the only argument anyone has for H1B.
Some of us would like to keep our best society in the world and take it back to when it was much better before the foreign invasion was facilitated for all these decades.
MAGA IS talking about getting rid of the welfare, and you are the one arguing elsewhere that we should shut up about the H1B issue because you claim (incorrectly) that "it's a losing issue for us".

I don't think people who oppose H1Bs are racist. I just think that American companies have every right to hire anybody they want, including from overseas, including to pay their relocation and help them through naturalization, etc. The real problem is not that Americans are being put out of work by H1Bs, the real problem is that Americans have become Europeanized (long-term goal of the globalist Left achieved!) and so American workers want Europe-style protections to pad their paychecks as though they're Alaskan high-voltage powerline workers, while working a French bureaucrat's work-week (noon to 2, every other Tuesday). Why should American workers have such a cushy situation? Is it because we have so many aircraft carriers? Is that not just Rome 2.0, the Old World imperial mindset which America was founded in repudiation of?!?
They do not have a right to import anyone.
If they want to hire foreigners they can set up shop in foreign countries, but then they would have to deal with the inferior societies those foreigners created for themselves.
We have every right to keep them from importing foreigners who will drag our society down to the level of the places they came from only to see them jump ship and run off to the next semi-successful society for them to set up shop in and then sell out using similar tactics to make number go up. (their number, everyone else's numbers go down)

Wanting to keep your own nation and culture and not be overrun by hordes of barbarians is not unamerican or European, it's basic humanity.
We should have a cushy station because we BUILT the cushy station, Nationalism is the opposite of imperialism, it's the imperialists who are trying to take over the world and homogenize all cultures, economies, and polities.
The Roman empire used foreign slaves to undermine its working and middle classes and that led directly to bread and circusses and the eventual collapse of Rome.

That means nothing to me.

Yes I am, without a doubt, so what?

We used to have a proposition nation, but the people calling me racist are the same people that smashed that ideal and killed it deader than Julius Caesar.

So they want tribalism after declaring war on me.

I am prepared to give that to them.

My first consideration in any public act or question now is: does this harm or help White people?

One need not go back that far.

1965, within probably both of our lifetimes.

Repeal the Hart - Celler Immigration Act.

And every other opening of the gates since, like H1B. (there are many more)
Then deport, deport, deport.

This matches my experience. A key theme across my career is being expected to maintain quality standards in spite of a team that is otherwise committed to low-quality output.

It's a cultural thing. They don't care about code quality as long as the product is technically working. Sometimes leadership will even embrace this view, and instead of having quality code and quality automated tests, they figure it's just cheaper to hire a small army of manual QA testers.

That perspective almost always backfired.
As someone said about them elsewhere, would you rather plow a field using one ox or one thousand chickens?

*sigh -- we are having a failure to communicate.

Yes, H1B is a government program. I don't care about H1B in itself, I'm using it as a synonym for economic immigration, aka foreign hiring and naturalization. Naturalization of economic immigrants, by whatever name you call it, is something the Federal government must handle, because that's its assigned job in the Constitution. So, "shut down H1B" means "stop all economic immigration", which is Federal tyranny -- lots of American companies will be prevented from hiring qualified candidates from other countries, which is ridiculous.

Imagine if oil-well fires could only be fought by local fire departments, by law. You'd need a hot-shot crew every 25 miles in oil territory. But there aren't that many oil-well fires that need to be put out. So hot-shot crews are inherently cross-border, because they live off of rare accident situations, and when there is such an accident, their skills are in primo demand. In your world, foreign hot-shot crews can't be called up to help in a domestic oil-well fire because MURIKA. That's just protectionism. And it's tyranny. And it's the opposite of everything Ron Paul has taught and stands for. Dr. Paul is not a Hoppean like me, but he advocates both strong borders, and unrestricted trade by Americans with foreigners they want to do business with, i.e. no import/export cronyism.

Comparing county/state lines to national and cultural lines is laughable.
Protecting Americans from invasion and displacement is not tyranny, allowing and facilitating an influx of foreigners to the disadvantage of the people is a tyrant tactic as old as time.
There are much smaller programs for truly needed temporary foreign workers like hotshot crews, and you know good and well there is not that kind of exceptional need for the foreigners being brought in just to lower the living standards of the middle and working classes to eliminate their political power and establish a globalist oligarchy.

If you want to hire foreigners then you can go live and set up a business in their country and deal with their society.

I think you're vastly underestimating how weak the economy is. We're probably in the biggest bubble in history. We've got 36 trillion in debt and we're borrowing 3 trillion a year and the interest payments on the debt have spiked to over a trillion. Cheap money is the only thing keeping most businesses solvent. When that runs out we're going to be in a depression. The last thing we need is to pile on more expenses by forcing them to only hire americans. You guys act like these businesses have some sort of unlimited source of revenue.

Just wait. I can't see this bubble lasting much longer.

And H1Bs just make it worse by driving costs up and wages down for Americans.

I wonder how many white Americans are members of India's parliament?

So now we have at least two communist Indians in the US house.
