Reddit r/MoscowIdaho -- I think it's time... (to remove [Christ Church] from main street AND the Palouse as a whole.)
Just take a gander through the thread. I recommend to follow each thread of comments and think carefully about the mindset of people who are making these comments. Keep in mind this is Reddit so, while they present themselves as "locals", they may or may not be. Might not even be US-based. But that doesn't really matter, and that's not why I linked this thread.
What I want to point people's attention to is the complete breakdown of any form of rational discussion, and the complete presupposition of the "obviously right" aims which any sane American who happens to live in Moscow should have -- obviously, to drive out the CC cult; "Kirkers" they're calling them.
Americans have dealt with (real) cults for a long time. No matter how annoying the r/MoscowIdaho Redditors may find CC and its members to be, they are not even a drop in the bucket compared to the Mormons, especially in the early years. We survived that and now Mormons are just another part of American culture. Our country did not disintegrate, as many at that time worried it would, and with incomparably better reasons than these leftie Moscow worry-warts have.
I assert that what you're seeing in this thread is the "New Normal" that the "Great Reset" prophets like Schwaub and Gates have promised us. No negotiation. No discussion. No meeting of the minds. No separation of concerns. No distinction between public spaces and private spaces. Just single-minded, shouting-down protest until the revolutionaries get what the revolutionaries want. Basically, the Left have become a distributed network of safe-space toddlers who will pitch the biggest temper tantrum in the history of temper tantrums whenever they don't get their way ... and they all collectively define "their way" to be whatever their Marxist buddies -- aka their "social network" -- say it is. It's a distributed tyranny enforced through Karens, SJWs, Antifa weirdos and other, more dangerous elements, all orchestrated through the hive-mind. Welcome to Amerika 2022.
I'm not affiliated with CC in any way, (although I am only one degree of separation from them), but I'm starting to see the sense in their approach to the cultural changes that are happening. When dealing with a political opponent who no longer acknowledges your most basic right to speak at the discussion table, you have no option but to respond with action. But what sort of action will you respond with? Violent action just leads to the January 6 circus. There must be a better way. And there is a better way, and it's called the Gospel and building Gospel-based communities, from the ground-up. We can do this. There's nothing stopping the broad swathe of American conservatives from getting off their lazy butts, canceling their porn-subscriptions, scrubbing up for church on Sunday morning, and starting to implement real change with their feet and hands instead of flapping at the gums. The Gospel isn't just about what you think, it's about what you do.
The aggressive, muscularized approach to social change is doomed to fail. Unlike the Left, we are not trying to shut everyone up so that only we can speak and only our opinions can be heard. Rather, we are simply asking for a seat at the discussion table, and for the discussion to be allowed to proceed in a rational way, where true facts can be presented and discussed. But that's not possible when your political opponents have literally gone insane and have resorted to every form of social distortion in lieu of rational discussion. In that case, the correct course of action is to rebuild the discussion table itself, from scratch, with ourselves bolted to it, so we simply cannot be removed. And that's one of the things that CC is doing in Moscow and why the Left is having an absolute conniption fit about it. But this won't stop in Moscow. As the Left continues to sweep the US with its black-flag Antifa-style Marxism, more and more conservative communities are going to find themselves nullified, lock-stock and barrel. Your police agencies taken over from within. Your city councils infiltrated. Your courts packed with Marxists. I'm not talking about the big urban centers, I'm talking about the conservative "bastions" way off in the boondocks. Make no mistake, that's the very next step on the globalists' Agenda. Odds are, they've already been infiltrating your community for more than a decade. So, think twice before kicking back in your hammock and telling yourself "not in my county, they're not." Yes, Mr. Individualist Ruralite Liberty-loving Conservative... they're coming for you...
