Why, though? Why should what another person does in their spare time matter, provided that it doesn't hurt anyone?

If it weren't for your brand of thinking, we wouldn't have to fight so desperately to get men and women like Ron Paul into public office.

He never said it should be illegal... He simply said that he thinks less of a person the same way some of us would think less of a person who taped pictures of horses on their ceiling (yes, that was my first thought...).

What if he were to reach legislative office, though? We've seen this a thousand times over - when someone who "doesn't approve" has their finger on the DEA, the FBI, or the FDA, everyone suffers. "I don't approve" ultimately translates to "send in the cavalry / tear up those harmless plants / strip away his college tuition".

If we're ever to have a successful revolution, not only will we need a change in governmental policy, but a fundamental attitude adjustment across the board. The people have time and time again proven themselves to be their own worst enemies, and as far as I'm concerned, being scrutinized by nosy, irrational neighbors isn't any better than being scrutinized by police or employers.

Besides, there's a big difference between abstaining from marijuana and "not approving". The former is a passive attitude and a personal choice, the latter is active and outwardly focused. To not approve of marijuana use, you're essentially staring thousands of years of medicine, botany, and economics in the face, covering your ears, and shouting "la la la I can't hear you!" It's as intellectually dishonest as believing that Lincoln wanted to free the slaves.

Not if that person is a libertarian.

I don't approve of masturbating to pictures of obese old men, but if someone wants to, no one has the authority to deny the person that right.

This made me spit water through my nose, taped pictures of horses to the ceiling. LMAO

I've never used marijuana before (SHOCK) ... which is too bad because it kills fewer brain cells (if any) than hard drinking... :o
Actually Marijuana has never been proven to kill brain cells.Smoking Marijuana does, but if it is consumed in food it is safe.

I used to think I looked down on people for smoking, and then I realized I only judge those who do it just for the mere fact they want to fit in.

Half the college kids I know just smoke it because they're a bunch of losers who want to fit in - they don't want to be anything. They come to class high and just say 'screw it.' They're the ones walking around with '420' stickers on their laptops and backpacks. They don't even know anything about what they're smoking. I think they ruin the movement.

I think that takes a lot of credentials away from those who can actually benefit from the drug, and that I am against and yes, I do judge those people.

Never touched the stuff, and I never will. I couldn't even recognize the smell. If people want to do it that is fine. As long as people have fun and do not do harm to others, its all good.

Never used it. Never tried it. Have no intentions of it. I'm 26, college educated and think less of people who use it....oh and I don't think it should be illegal either...

I tend to think less of people who regularly use any type of mind-altering substance... (Alcohol, nicotine, marijuana, LSD, chocolate, etc.), on principle more then any hard evidence that they become lesser people after taking it.

We have a tie for the "retard" awards.

Exactly who are you to pass judgement?

The question they never ask themselves.

+1

I am a habitual (as in daily), "poly-drug" user. I have been since Jr. High school. I graduated university, have a high paying job and a great (beautiful and intelligent) family.

"Who is better than me?"

Not anymore

Marijuana is a mind-altering substance. The most "visible" effects are pleasurable sensations, paranoia (extreme anxiety) and dependency. As well, it often contains as many (more or less) cancerous agents as tobacco, which can lead to lung cancer if smoked regularly.

There's really no reason why anyone HAS to use marijuana, and is primarily used as a recreational drug, as much as people push it for its sketchy ability to prevent cancer (or to help patients deal with pain).

Wow, Is that a direct quote from the Official Propaganda Manual?
Not only is it incorrect and unsupported by facts, but to anyone familiar with the substance it's down right funny.
Was your research watching "Reefer Madness"??
