Hell yeah...I knew this day woud come.

"when i jumped off, i held a bucket full of thoughts,
when i first jumped off i held that bucket in my hands,
ideas that would take me all around the world,
i stood behind the smoke and watch the mountains curl (?)

it took me a long time to get back on the train"

-can't wait to pretend i'm young again.... off to the forest!

God damn!

Time to put some reggae on.

Moon child. :)

only a couple times in the last year
all it does is make me sleepy
i don't know what the fuss is all about

I love smoking weed and either playing guitar or playing video games.

I also smoke quite a bit when I make videos. Keeps me focused and entertained, somehow.

I can see why some people think weed is 'over-rated' but it's really not. We are all aware of how mild of a drug it is. It's just a slight change for your state of mind, nothing more.

I like you more with every post. :)

It is THE single best treatment for my sinus allergies, which I consider severe. It's the only thing that will clear me up within minutes. Just a couple of tokes and my eyes stop watering, I stop sneezing, and I stop having to go through a whole box of kleenex because of my fire hydrant nose. My allergies, when they kick in are pretty incapacitating because I'm sneezing every couple of minutes. Sometimes I have a seemingly endless fit of sneezing and it starts to hurt. I can also get dehydrated with all the fluid coming out of my nose. Sorry, gross, I know. Pills kinda work, but don't stop it, not within 3-6 hours anyway. The thing that works the very best is weed. Within 10-15 minutes it's all over and I can go get things done.

Allow me to nudge this in a different direction -- does anyone here support Ron Paul exclusively (or near-exclusively) because he would likely federally decriminalize marijuana production/consumption? (I'd, at least, appreciate the honesty in answering this question)

I don't think I could sit in this chair and work the 80 hours per week I do without it. It can assist greatly in the creative process. Born, raised and always having lived in Marc Emery's town and environs, it's pretty commonplace here. Laws against personal possession are rarely enforced. While I don't think young people should smoke it, I really don't see what the big deal is.

I would say it becomes a dependancy through mental constructs, not through chemical properties. 'Weed hangover' may very well be a symptom of non-cannabinoid products which get burned along with the plant when smoking. Effects reported include tired lungs, quite possibly a result of the method of ingestion.

Marijuana is not a gateway drug, except to the extent that it is a black market substance, and so gaining possession of it requires one to relate with people involved in other black market activities. This being the case, the smart choice is to avoid the situation entirely, as the benefits can be enjoyed through meditation without the possible legal side-effects.

Another reason for the gateway drug myth is that a person willing to try an illegal substance such as marijuana is a personality type more likely to try another illegal substance. Therefore studies which say 'X% of pot users have also used ___' do not lead logically to the conclusion that ingesting marijuana suddenly makes one more likely to ingest other drugs. The extent to which this is actually the case is a result of prohibition: 'Wow the DARE cops were wrong about this, what else were they wrong about.'

Looking down on users is common. The important thing if one wishes to judge is to separate usage from results. IOW, it is the proverbial laziness that is the problem, not the plant.

I find that marijuana smokers too often get involved with the rationalizations of other substance abusers. This causes too high a frequency of denial in the user. Alcoholics are notorious, but we also see pot users rationalizing heavy use and ignoring the axiom 'best in moderation' which certainly applies to pot use.

Society should not push simple substance abusers to the outside in the first place. Regardless of my personal beliefs on cannabis itself, the hypocrisy of the punishments is apparent when compared to the relative acceptance of alcoholism (It's beer thirty!) and even pain medication abuse. I recently got advice from a doctor which could easily be construed as 'I recommend this potential prescriptive addiction to solve your problem.'

I"ll give a partial results, I frequent some marijuana only message boards, and Ron Paul is a very common candidate there (maybe over 50%)

how about alcohol, cigarettes or caffeine? :)

I smoke a good cigar from time to time. I enjoy a good microbrew and a steak from time to time as well.

I don't have anything against myself using drugs, even "illegal" drugs as medicine, if I think I need them. I don't do drugs, but if I was in extreme pain, I surely wouldn't want my doctor to be in fear of the Feds if he thinks an opiate may ease my pain.

It is one of the many positions that I appreciate about him. What attracted me was his position on the 2nd amendment, but as I learned, his positions on Liberty, and sound money I became more firm in my support.
As a small farm owner, hemp or even medical grade marijuana would be an economic benefit.
And without the legal hassles, enjoying a nice buzz would be even more pleasant.

I see legalization as a net positive. In several areas.
But it is not my sole reason for support, or even a primary reason.
