Libertarian Party attacks the Paul family

I think they are bitter that Ron didn't run as a Libertarian in 2012.

still, a 3rd party should not be ruled out. a new 3rd party without the doctrinaire policies of the LP. Libertarian on social issues, except for abortion, with a strong emphasis on states rights. non-interventionism in foreign policy, maybe a mixture between Ron and Rand views.

I still have a hard time believing that Rand or any other Libertarian leaning candidate will ever win a GOP nomination. CPAC sure, maybe even a few states this time. imagine if Rand would at least do the basics of a part set-up, if only to scare the establishment.
in some states potential GOP candidates seek the conservative or other 3rd party nomination, to force the GOP to endorse them.

What are they supposed to do? Endorse Rand Paul? By his own admission, he's not a small L or little l libertarian. The party has to make sure that people understand that, so that they can remain relevant. (although it's debatable if they have ever been relevant). There are some true libertarians who hope that they will run a decent candidate, so that we can have an actual candidate to support who will endorse libertarian issues. Rand Paul is clearly not going to do that, especially as he tries to win a GOP nomination.

They need to stop blowing their wad chasing the Presidency. Pick one state and get some seats there, show that it works. Get a governorship. Have a state economically outperforming 49 others while bucking Fed funds.

I don't understand why Rand can't seek both nominations. Romney ran on Republican and Conservative lines in NY. what is wrong with a second or third ballot line in every state?

agree with the focus on certain states, but better to target congressional and state legislative districts. a libertarian governor with a Dem or Rep sponsored state legislature would be a disaster.

they should also target via Rep and Dem primaries. try to take out Peter King. and not just Libertarians. the greens should do the same thing.

That's close to what the Constitution Party believes, except that they're socially conservative on more issues than just abortion. But they at least understand the 10th Amendment and support federalism on those issues.

Pretty much, hence why I like them. Not on everything, mind you. I think they could go even further when it comes to supporting the current government, and I don't like how they go for legal positivism on the immigration question. But, I would at least qualify the Constitution Party as imperfect but nonetheless solid supporters of liberty, as opposed to just slightly modified fascism like the GOP.

Well, so much for the NAP. I always knew the LP weren't ever REALLY libertarians.

IIRC, it started out libertarian, getting the likes of Harry Browne nominated, but was subsequently taken over by disgruntled Right-wingers and Objectivists. I don't do the collectivist political party nonsense, so I'm not sure.

If all of these morons would just give it up and focus on taking over the GOP we could have driven all of the NeoCons out and potentially saved the world from WW3.

Instead these fools do stuff like this. Just amazing...

yes i saw this to the ther day on fb. my response is somewhere in there. it is a damn shame they would put the pauls in with the likes of the rest. thats probably the dumbest post ive ever saw political wise.

I wouldn't be here and my mind wouldn't have expanded without Ron Paul. I never bash LP but this is about as stupid as it gets. Bite the hand that feeds you and you won't get fed. Idiots.
