The good isn't the enemy of the perfect and the perfect will never come w/o the good preceding it. We all know we can't force a pristine message on people and hope it sticks all the while we're being dissected by these talk hosts on a regular basis. As examples, KB, JA & TM didn't win on strict libertarian messages, they won on focusing campaign lingo on specific popular talking points that cater to grassroots conservatives. Less is more at times. There's nothing here about kissing any asses, it's all about campaigning on giving them less to drive up our negs with. We can't run a future Rand campaign identical to how Ron ran his. Getting Rand to the nomination and then allowing him to unleash his message to the nation is priority #1 come 3 yrs. It won't happen by playing the purist namby pamby angle. Rand's record will speak for itself and these self-proclaimed liberty fringers will have to accept that over his talking points.

So, you're basically saying that Rand has no intention of being honest to the masses about his real intentions...that expressing libertarian views that he shares with his father must be held secret, lest he be rejected by neocons whose ass he must kiss.

Tell me, what is it that this is going to win for all of us again?

If he follows the advice given in this thread to throw the majority of his Dad's supporters under the bus in favor of Limbaugh's and Hannity's listeners, it won't matter if I get banned. There will be no need for Ron's supporters to stick around.

Why should we think Rand is compromised if they support us or name-drop us? If anything, it's more genius political maneuvering because Rand has never catered to these guys. In order for us to win we are going to need to garner support beyond these forums and Ron's current base. If they just come to us without Rand doing any catering than that's a victory for us.

If by "relegated to the fringes" you mean you intend to marginalize many of the people who helped grow the Ron Paul R3volution (i.e., libertarians, anarchists, Alex Jones listeners, etc.) good luck getting by without us. Look to be blunt if we run things the way they were run the last time we are going to lose. Do you want to play the game and get a good trustworthy principled person in office who can really do something or scream at the top of your lungs about everything that is wrong and get nowhere? You're getting Jesse Benton. His work with McConnell makes that 100% clear. It likely means they have an alliance of some sort and McConnell will endorse Rand. You've got 2.5 years to come to terms with it. Infighting and name calling will get us all nowhere.

Nobody needs to be banned from anything, you just can't get us branded as fringe again. Look Rand has all the right principles but is willing to play the games Ron didn't. The end result will be that he can win where his dad didn't. Some people are probably going to have to bite their tongues next time to get it done.
