Today, by all accounts, has not been the best in our movement. We've all said things that we may one day come to regret. I've certainly said things I regret, and for them I'm sorry to anyone I may have offended.
Fighting among ourselves serves no purpose whatsoever other than to distract us from working for candidates who support liberty.
Right now, I'm asking that we all acknowledge four things:
1) It's very easy to understand why one should be upset at Bob Barr for skipping today's press conference.
2) It's very easy to understand why Bob Barr could have felt slighted and skipped out on the press conference today.
3) When we say nasty things about a candidate (Barr, Baldwin, or whoever), we upset and alienate people we need to have on our side in order to reclaim liberty.
4) The nastier we get toward Bob Barr, Chuck Baldwin, Ralph Nader, or Cynthia McKinney, the nastier we start getting toward each other, and the less productive we ultimately are.
We've got four principles that FOUR (not three) candidates agreed with Ron Paul to promote in their campaigns. They're four great candidates who are all much better than Barack Obama and John McCain. Let's stop putting energy into denigrating any one of them, or into a campaign to stop one of them, and focus on supporting the one of our choice or a candidate in another race who truly inspires us (like B.J. Lawson). If we all do this, the net result will be very positive.
