Let's stop this fighting (one last plea)

Like it or not, this move has splintered our movement. It's time to dig in our heels and start making good friends with Greens and socialists.

Huh? I have no beef with ANY American who wants to join with us in reinstating the Constitution and individual liberty. We don't have to agree on everything and we never will. This latest stunt by Barr doesn't make me mad at Libertarians, any more than I'm going to hate ALL Republicans for that piece of slime, John McCain.

Remember Ron saying that freedom brings us together? Maybe we should focus more on that and start reaching out to individuals and stop demanding that they share every, single one of our beliefs before they can join with us.

The reason he may be upset is that he didn't get the exclusive endorsement of Dr. Paul.

Well BOO EFFING HOO. Obviously, Barr DID NOT DESERVE IT.

Considering that Bob is the Libertarian Party's nominee,

That's THEIR problem.

that Dr. Paul is a member of the Libertarian Party in good standing,

who chose to run AS A REPUBLICAN for a REASON. And today, we all have a much better understanding of why Ron made that choice, don't we?

and that Dr. Paul has professed many time his libertarian principles,

yet still did not run on the LP ticket. FOR A REASON.

Barr probably figured that Dr. Paul would endorse the Libertarian candidate

and chose to behave like a petulant child when Dr. Paul did not.

rather than issue a multi-candidate endorsement including three non-Libertarians.

Considering what we know now....it is a great thing that Ron didn't endorse the Libertarian candidate.
That's a reason he may be upset, and I think it's understandable, although I disagree with his actions.

Again, his behavior clearly demonstrates that he is unfit to be the president.

I disagree with his actions. But somehow implying that members of the Libertarian Party are not a part of the movement to reclaim liberty doesn't help things, seeing as though the Libertarian Party has the most pro-liberty platform of any.

Tell it to someone who is gullible enough to buy it. That would not be me.

I'm guessing you haven't read the "I vow to never vote for Chuck Baldwin" thread. There's been a good bit of nastiness toward him, of which I have been a part and for which I apologize.

No I have not read that thread. Since you admit that you are part of the Baldwin bashing, it appears - based on your multiple threads asking that your side be free from criticism - that you can dish it out but have immense difficulty taking it.

I'm sure the Baldwin supporters appreciate the apology.

Please stop trying to silence the righteous indignation of Paul supporters.

Exactly. We're not (for the most part) fighting one another. RP was shown disrespect and a lack of common decency. If we don't voice our distaste for that, then we're no better than Bob Barr.

Ignoring whoever is their Presidential nominee, do you honestly think that after viewing every political party's platform, the Libertarian Party's platform does NOT call for the most liberty of any platform? Here it is, for reference.

I guess the LP could be lying about what it stands for, and I suppose Libertarians could be lying about what they stand for. I doubt that.

I didn't ask that my "side" be free from criticism. Please cite an example of me saying that. In fact, I criticized my Party's candidate for doing what he did today, which you acknowledged.

I've apologized for my actions. I think we should all quit laying on particular candidates and actually work for candidates we believe in.

For instance, imagine how many pledges B.J. Lawson would have for his money bomb right now if everyone who lobbed a bomb at Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin had gone to http://lawsonlibertyfund.com today and pledged to donate to his campaign next Wednesday. It would have been a substantial number. People like B.J. Lawson unite us.

I believe they are lying about what they stand for. Sure, some are gullible enough to put faith in that party. I ain' t one of 'em.

Sadly, it took YOUR MAN being attacked before you had the epiphany moment that what you were doing to Baldwin here WAS WRONG.

Glad you had such a moment...shame it took THIS MESS to get yer damned attention.

I already donated, and also, see:

People like Ron Paul unite us. Barr is a divisive force. Intended to be so IMO.

Your upset over the situation is being misdirected. Your anger should not be directed at RP supporters who are expressing their rage over Barr's actions.

Your anger should be directed at Barr.
