Just ran off a census taker

???

I get the 4th amendment, right to property argument that they don't have the authority to demand answers to some questions, but the physical location of your house isn't exactly a 'protected' piece of information...

I could get the same exact info from google earth, all while sitting in my basement, and i doubt that the government is that slow to not be able to do the same.

Now if they were standing outside your house with some kind of radar/infrared/density probe that would reveal the contents of your home that goes beyond what they could ascertain using plain sight from the street - then i would look to emp jamming or lead insulation.

Just please don't forget that the nose count itself is Constitutionally mandated, and necessary if we're to get proper representation in the House.

Noting the GPS location of an address is not capturing or revealing any information about the occupants of the house. It is no different from using a paper map and checking off locations you visited so you don't have to make a repeat visit. I don't see the big deal. But I am not as paranoid as soms people may be.

I'll live up to *my* end of the Constitution when they start living up to theirs.

That may be true for you...

But not for me.

My home does not show up on Google Earth, I've checked.

Bet it will now though.:mad::mad::mad:

And if that was the case, then why do government workers need to be going around and entering the co-ordinates into a database?

I had them out at my house a few days back. GPS locating. He asked me if we had any renters. I just told him that this is a private house and I'd be happy to take a look at his literature. He went away.

It was my understanding that the Census was taken every !0 years.
I did one in 2000 and again in 2006. Last year I ran them off my property. Rudely.

If they show up again before 2010, I may kick their ass. I will definitely remove them from my land.
Enough is enough. :(

Google Earth seems to think my place is 3/4ths of a block away - and I rather like that!

I remember the last one... all sorts of stuff that was none of their business. who lived here, how many miles you traveled to work, bunch of stuff about your daily routine, income and so on...

Kinda glad they dropped off the form - my paper shredder was hungry and literally smiles when it shreds something that offensive!

ACORN got 3 BILLION dollars in the stimulus program....These communists will be reporting to rahm emmanuel with phony census numbers for 2010

Electronic geeks - can we jam the handheld GPS?

water works.
add salt for the extra kick.

grab the device and dump it quickly into a tea pitcher you just happen to have with you.... remember to say 'oops- my bad'.

I have been fighting the same census taker for the last 2 months. Though she stopped coming in the last 2 weeks, it seems.

She wanted ME to complete the "American Community Survey". She threatened ME with a $200 fine if I didn't complete it. I am still trying to find out how she could fine ME $200 dollars if she didn't even know MY name and didn't know for certain that I lived in the home, thus making ME "responsible" for the survey. MY home was randomly selected, she says.

I told her that if she wanted to fine ME for not complying she would first have to send ME the survey, certified registered mail. She didn't listen. She kept sending it regular mail to some guy name "Current Resident"

Oh Well. Haven't seen her since. BTW, if Current Resident is reading this, could you please file a change of address? K, thx.

Here is some good info on the Survey.

You probably took a town census in 2006, not a federal:eek:

Also, we're not Census Takers, we're just canvassing the areas to make sure that someone still lives in the home and that the proper forms don't go to an abandon house.

Also, the GPS, like someone said earlier, is to prevent fraud.

Why not set up one of those prank water buckets above your door, complete with a rope with which to release it from your window? :D

Awesome! :D

can anyone explain to me any fucking non nefarious purpose for collecting the GPS coordinates down to 3 meters of EVERY SINGLE FUCKING FRONT DOOR IN AMERICA?

The only useful purposes I can think of....

predator drone targeting

making sure they dont miss anyone when they start running the ovens.

The purpose is as follows:

prevent people from fraudulently inventing residents to increase the share of entitlements programs given to their community.
