Hezbollah are Shia, as is Iran. US is aligned with Sunni Wahabbist fanatics, enemies of the Shia (generally).

I think the Shia tend to be led more by religious clerics, whereas Sunni are mostly monarchies who use religious fanatics as a means to keep the populations in check. Note, in the image above, that Bahrain is majority Shia but it's "royal" family are Sunni and supported this US strike in Hezbollah.
