Iowa PPP Poll 12/18: Paul 23%, Romney 20%, Gingrich 14%

Need to work on the 45+ age group as they will be very likely to turnout and vote for their candidate , we need to make sure they pick paul and not one of the other stooges.

This thread will be a part of history...I just hope we aren't peaking too soon. I would rather reach 1st place the week before or the week of the poll. Remember, 2 weeks ago Gingrich had 27%. 1 week later he went to 22%. 1 week later he went to 14%. There are 15 days remaining. Good news is there are no more debates until after the initial primaries, but there's still time for attack ads by other candidates.

We need to go all in to actually get this win. This will come down to the wire.

Check it out guys. I believe it's the first time RCP has shown Paul leading a poll.

The interesting thing about this poll graph is the only candidates that haven't had a significant drop are Paul and Huntsman but Huntsman hasn't got above 5. This shows that people who come around to support Paul don't change their mind as easily as the other's supporters.

Definition of PEAK

intransitive verb : to reach a maximum (as of capacity, value, or activity) —often used with out

transitive verb : to cause to come to a peak, point, or maximum

To use the word peak would assume that Ron Paul could never gain any further support, and he has reached a ceiling. As the media keeps saying he has a ceiling, 10%, 15%, 20% and now they say 25%. It would seem Ron Paul does not have any such invisable ceiling the MSM continues to speak of, and raise each time he breaks their celing. In fact it would appear, Ron Paul can maintain a steady growth of support, which in polls show to be strong, and not soft.

Good news. Plenty of question marks over the data. Not the accuracy but what some of what the cross tables suggests such as the poor showing among women.

Some food for thought: PPP had crosstabs which included those that watched the debate: Romney (+9), Gingrich (+8), and Bachmann (+3) improved among those who watched; Paul (-11), Santorum (-7), and Perry (-1) lost support among debate viewers.

That has me worried....

I just realized that Santorum's rise from 2% is very good for us. Now the rabid warmongers have a place to go. Everyone knows that Santorum voters would never vote for Ron Paul, so it's good that they're going toward someone who doesn't have any chance of winning. Heck, Santorum's probably going to stay in it for the long haul, too.

The reason we are winning right now is that there are enough establishment options so that it dilutes the establishment vote all that much more because Santorum has gained much of it and equalized the leading establishment candidates, and now Ron Paul stands out. It's freakin' genius how we're actually pulling this off.

I like!

SHHHHHHH!!!!! Don't let THEM know that.

This is very disturbing.

Gingrich has baggage. :)

The lessons from this poll:

1) Now we know why Perry and Bachmann have gone so negative against Paul. ;)

2) The debate doesn't seem to have had a huge impact. Paul's favorables are down a little, but he still has the highest favorable rating. Paul actually leads among those who have "paid a lot of attention to debates" and among those who pick foreign policy as the most important issue. He's doing well enough among conservatives and Republicans to have the outsiders put him over the top. Thankfully, there won't be another debate in which someone can go after him publicly on Iran. Maybe we should worry a little about a nasty ad coming out that targets the issue, but I doubt that the one most likely to do it (Bachmann) has the money for it. Perry might, but his advertising has been inconsequential so far. Romney won't go negative against Paul until New Hampshire.

3) Get Paul's butt to Iowa and keep him there. He's leading among people who have met the candidates and those who think it's "very important" the candidates go to Iowa.

4) He leads big among people who don't like the GOP establishment. Keep hitting this.

Excellent news, but time to work harder than ever. His opponents will be.

Paul is taking some hits right now while Romney is getting all good press basically along with endorsements. Most of the negative press is from the punditry at Fox News.

Kind of annoys me.

One thing that needs to be mentioned is that Paul and Romney are still in a statistical tie for first place.
