Introduce yourself! Who, What, Where, Why!

Hello!

Hi,

Even though I live in California, I sent Ron Paul money many years ago for his Texas Congressional campaign when his political enemies were trying to gerrymander him out of existence. I liked his message then and I still do and I knew back then we needed people like him in Congress.

I will be 50 next summer. In my entire adult life, I've always felt like there is something wrong with our economic system. In the last 15 years it's gotten a heck of a lot worse. The savers are punished for saving and living within their means, and the spendthrifts and gamblers get tax breaks and bailouts. I'm really sick of it.

No other presidential candidate appeals to me because they all just want to tweak the system around the edges, glue this, patch that. We need this country to go in a whole new direction, or maybe I should say, back in our original direction.

The people who have organized fund-raisers for Ron Paul have done a mindboggling job, and I know they will outdo themselves yet again.

I was listening to Joe Scarborough today discuss with RP how other members of Congress keep asking RP how he raises the funds. RP is right, it's not some magic technique, it's the message. The other members of Congress just don't get it. It's not about ME ME ME and how much money will you give ME so I can keep my lucrative cushy spot here in Congress.

I am Michael. I am a 19-year old engineering student from the suburbs of Philadelphia who never cared about politics until now. Dr. Paul interests me because he is honest and has very rational beliefs about the way this country should be run.

My name is Vejay Shiwprasad from Houston. I am a 28 year old 1st generation American. I work for a technology company, have some college credits, and have worked for everything that I have. I have a twin brother in the National Guard that is also a Ron Paul supporter. I am not a spammer, my parents do no have a basement and have already refused to let me live with them a while ago, and I am no way affliated with any hate groups, fringe groups, or just groups in general.

I was always taught in school that the Republican Party was the one that would not steal from its citizens and redistribute the wealth. In the 10 years I have been eligible to vote I have not seen a candidate that practices and preaches these values with the exception of Ron Paul.

Being the child of an immigrant, my circle of friends sometimes included people in the same position. You learn how other countries view America through hearing first hand stories on how American policies have affected them. For instance our support of Israel has done nothing but incited hatred of America from the Muslim world.

I have researched all the candidates and I think that Ron Paul is the closest to true conservative Republican values; the others would be more of the same tax and spend as well as an empire building foreign policy. I do not agree on all of his positions, but the ones that I agree on are the issues that can be detrimental in the near future for America. These include the issues of fiscal responsibility, government waste, foreign policy, national sovereignty, and immigration. I think that in order to be truly free though we must ensure that every citizen must have a true sound mind and body, and for me that translate to government funded medical care and college education. Those could be provided by the state though.

The first time I heard of Ron Paul was on CNN when the reported the Guiliani exchange. Then I youtubed him and found the Rachel Junkie video, and IIRC an Aravoth video and I was hooked. I have donated and have tried to convert everyone I know. I haven't joined a meet up since I am way too busy to commit the time. Since the Texas Priamary is until March I think their is still plenty of time to campaign here.

Hey everybody! I'm loving being here.

My name is Chris and I'm a 24 year old sales manager from Richmond, VA. I have a bachelor's in business from a private college perennially ranked in the top 50. Not to brag, but I know my stuff and my logic is sound.

I learned about Ron when he announced his run. I'm too young to remember him from '88, but being a Libertarian leaning Republican myself, I looked him up. I thought he was great, and then moved on with my business thinking "I wish this country could get out of their foxhole and vote for someone like this, I'll probably just abstain again in '08."

November 5th completely turned me on my head. I'd been reading up on him regularly, along with most candidates of all parties. On the 5th I got directed to ronpaulgraphs.com and I simply couldn't look away.

Since then I've intensified my preexisting hobby of cross analyzing media. I grew up with a mouse in my right hand and I am truly a child of the digital age. The fact that this campaign brings together libertarian ideas is one reason for excitement, but I think moreso that we as a movement are reestablishing the role of the internet as powerful, uncensored medium for information exchange that really can initiate positive societal change.

So now I devote quite a bit of spare time to tracking Dr. Paul's media coverage. Now with YouTube I can consolidate everything in one place. Print, TV, Radio, it's all there, and it all needs to be shared and discussed among us. I go a few steps further most times, and this is where I feel I really contribute to the campaign. When we get very positive press, I write letters. When we get very negative press, I write letters. If a website has a valid, rational and unbiased analysis, I reward them by visiting all their sponsors.

I'm probably more introverted than most here, so canvassing just ain't my style. I try to convert my friends and family, sure, but I've never been too comfortable with spreading unsolicited opinions to strangers. I like to watch the watchers, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

What wonderful things we're doing here. Merry Christmas, everyone.

(I'm sorry, was that a Christofascist blanket statement that I need to retract? I'm an atheist, and I say it too!) :D

Hello. I just came over from dailypaul.com, which has grown far too laggy for my liking, for the record.

I am a high school senior from Pikeville, KY. I used to be a Neocon and a fundie, but I have been sliding towards Objectivism since I read Atlas Shrugged a few years ago.

I spend a tremendous amount of time on the internet, and I heard about Ron Paul from the guy who runs http://www.fdassault.com , Governor, who is a massive RP supporter(as are all the people over there). My username over there is Working Class Hero, in case anyone from FD is on here.

After I heard about RP, I started researching him, and I've read most of the articles at ronpaullibrary, as well as his latest book. Although he and I don't agree on exactly everything(death penalty and absolute seperation of church and state), he's by far the best candidate in this race, and definitely the only one with any substance.

I've largely given up on my family, they're too brainwashed by faux news, but most of my friends are RP supporters, and we're starting a Students for Ron Paul group as soon as school starts again. I must say I enjoy debating with liberals AND neocons, I've done plenty of that during the last few months.

Have a good Christmas(Another nontheist here who's willing to say it)

I'm a 49 year old married grandmother from Missouri, working full time in the software industry. I live with my husband and 8 year old grandson. My votes have gone to the Democrats until now. I never donated to a campaign before, but sent my $100 on both of the money bomb days.

One day in January 2007 I came across a youtube video of Ron Paul speaking. I liked his message and I've been listening ever since.

Hi! I've been lurking here a few weeks, but have been behind Ron Paul since this fall, when my husband discovered him on YouTube. (We're both 24 years old; he's a full-time student, I'm an editor.)

I'm here in part because, as Chesterton said, "There is no fear that
a modern king will attempt to override the constitution; it is
more likely that he will ignore the constitution and work behind its back;
he will take no advantage of his kingly power; it is more likely that
he will take advantage of his kingly powerlessness, of the fact that
he is free from criticism and publicity. For the king is
the most private person of our time. It will not be necessary for any one
to fight again against the proposal of a censorship of the press.
We do not need a censorship of the press. We have a censorship
by the press. This startling swiftness with which popular systems turn oppressive
is [the reason we] must always be on the look out for every privilege
being abused, for every working right becoming a wrong.
In this matter I am entirely on the side of the revolutionists. "

Lots of people my age look at the mess they've inherited, turn over, and go back to sleep. I'm here to DO something about it. We donated -- our first political donation ever -- on Tea Party Day; I'm writing letters, slowly but surely, for Iowa; we're talking to our friends and families; we're entirely on the side of the revolutionists. :)

Call me Hank

Call me Hank. I am a 49 yo cynic but Dr. Paul is treating me for my chronic condition. I hope he cures my cynicism. He has done a lot already. I don't want to get Kumbaya on you but you people you have also done a lot to restore my faith in humanity.

I live in NH and I have been active in the campaign but I have not done as much as I had wanted to. Life just keeps interfering with my plans.

So many of my comments will go unrecorded. Not enough time. But there is something I must say and I might cross-post this on another thread. The polls are being used as a weapon against us. Ignore them! I have written a 12 page critique on the 2004 Democratic Presidential Polls. Kerry's numbers look a lot like Dr. Paul's numbers. http://www.publishersgoldmine.com/2007/12/19/if-i-get-a-chimpanzee-and-a-dartboard/

Let's win!

I am just another Ron Paul supporter that respects and teaches the Constitution of our country. I reserve the right to vote for the Candidate I choose, as our vote is our voice, and to protect the rights of my children. I refuse the agenda of the two headed serpent known as the two party system and their bid to remove our freedoms and liberty. We must continue our support for Paul at all costs to insure that "We the People" take control of our country once again.

I am proud to be apart of the revolution.

Ron Paul 2008

Hey, I've been here for a few days and thought I'd take a second and introduce myself. I'm a 34 year old native of Charlotte, NC, I work in digital media and television production (and I go to school as well - yeah, I'm busy). I first read about RP about 10 years ago in Reason magazine, and ever since then, he's sort of been my go to example of what a statesman should be when I'm discussing politics. I've been a registered Libertarian for awhile (as far as NC will let me, and really only for ballot access reasons - I'm not an active LP'er), but I just switched a couple of days ago to the GOP. Like a lot of small 'l' libertarians, I do not agree with Ron on abortion or immigration, but I am wholeheartedly behind him on restoring the constitution, ending our aggressive and imperialistic foreign policy immediately, ending the drug war, and allowing human beings to speak their minds, associate with who they choose, and engage in commerce that is mutually beneficial. Regardless of what happens in '08, the door has been opened. I can't tell you how exciting it is to hear people discussing the legitimacy (or illegitimacy as it may be) of the federal reserve and the IRS.

Cheers to you all, and let's get this thing done!

A big HELLO!

I've been lurking here for a long time and decided to join for the tea-party weekend. I am a Civil Engineering student focusing on structures, materials and construction. I run a small concrete installation company on the side to make money for school and have made enough to graduate in four months with a positive net worth. Also, I believe in Jesus. (didn't really know how to work that in, lol)

I strongly believe in running a country as I would run a household. There are times in a countries infancy that going into debt may be needed, but once the groundwork has been laid out (court rooms built, war debts paid, etc...) I think the government should work towards a surplus. Just as well managed households do not require income to sustain themselves, I believe the government should not require any taxes, levies, or fees to operate. I believe that the long term goal of the government is to have such a storage of wealth that the dividends and interest generate all necessary government programs. But instead of following the practices of the successful, what does the government do? Goes further and further into debt.

Ron Paul is the only person running for office today that will fix this problem. The USA cannot afford any disaster. Period. The baby boomers are retiring, shrinking the tax base while raising the strain on government programs. The debt continues to grow, not only piling on massive amounts of debt, but also depleting any buffer that could be used for a REAL emergency. Education is so astoundingly poor that the average high school graduate can't understand basic math. The dollar will be dropped as the reserve currency for the world, reducing living standards. Wars are getting more and more expensive and last longer and longer. The world that used to look to us as a beacon of hope and liberty now mocks and ridicules us. It is as if the people that run the government have as much economic sense as the people that are trapped in the ghetto.

Cicero once said that "the wise are driven by reason; ordinary minds, by experience; the stupid, by necessity, and brutes by instinct." We have drifted from the wise that founded America to the stupid. Although I pray we never have brutes in office, it will come to that unless the Republican Revolution succeeds. It is not about Ron Paul, he just happens to be wise, honest and consistent enough to be propelled by it. I fully expect that the coming years will have many "Revolution Republicans" run for office. They will strive to be honest, wise, and consistent men that run the country as a household. We must aid them.

That is what Ron Paul is to me. He is the standard that we must hold ourselves to as we run for office. He has opened many of your eyes to the corruption and sheer stupidity of the current trends in the government. If Ron Paul does become president, AWESOME, but even if he doesn't, he has still done more for this country than any other politician has done in the past 100 years, by igniting the minds of so many people to the ideal of liberty.

I thank you all, the moderators, the donors, the organizers, the voters for making Ron Paul as popular as he is. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Long live the Republican Revolution!

Hey, My name is Justin. I am a Computer Security student at Itt working Technical Support in Milwaukee right now, and living in Waukesha, Wi. [Maybe one day I will speak with you!] The primary reasons i support Ron Paul are because of his viewpoints on Health Care, The War, The CIA , Marijuana and Hemp. Ron Paul to me is the best candidate. People shun him because of his passive viewpoints (and non-direct affiliation) with many racial groups such as the Nazi party and KKK. I don't necessarily agree with those viewpoints, but the others i do. The way i see it, his great viewpoints outweigh his bad ones. I think everyone should know what he wants to do with drugs: legalize, regulate, tax, and treat. Go freedom president!!!

Intro

I'm an unabashed Jeffersonian/Buchananite White Nationalist who first came across Ron Paul on Stormfront.org. A middle-class working man with a family and a son in the military. I've been a nominal Republican since casting my first vote for Ronald Reagan in 1980. Since then I've become increasingly disgusted and disillusioned with the direction the party and our country has been going in. Multiculturalism, globalism, imperialism, federalism...our founding fathers must be spinning in their graves.

Dr. Paul is a much-needed breath of fresh air who strikes me as being the only genuine, honest candidate in a crowded field of phony, lying, pander-bears. Our country has strayed very far from it's origins and we desperately need to do an about face and get back to being a Republic, not an Empire. Dr. Paul has my vote.

Clifton Davis aka Blacks For Ron Paul

I am an alex jones listener. I use to be a bleeding heart liberal and so -called "black " activist. After listening and studying the words and wisdom Ron Paul and others. It renewed my faith in america and what the founding fathers ( they are not perfect) wrote in that brillant document called the Constitution of the United States. Frustrated with many members in my neighborhoods refusal to listen to anything other than democrats. I started www.blogtalkradio.com/blacksforronpaul podcast call in radio show. Ron Paul is the only candidate that stands steadfastly by our civil liberties and his economic policies and proposals make more sense than welfare entiltlement economics.
I am interested in discussing learning more.

Hello everyone,
I'm a University of Oklahoma student who only recently became interested in Ron Paul.

I started reading about Dr. Paul about a week or two before the second money bomb. I can't stand any of the other candidates and I really agree with all the things Dr. Paul is saying. I hope I can help make a difference in his campaign. :)

Hi,

The first time I heard about Ron Paul was probably over a year ago. So I knew some of his positions and that he was nicknamed "Dr No" in congress. When I heard that he was running for president (First time around 6 month ago) I thought to myself that he would not have a chance of winning. I thought that because Ron Paul is against the establishment, and they are strong, brutal and greedy. I also underestimated the American's by thinking that they never go out and vote anyway, so way should they pick up on somebody so unique and different as Dr Paul. Boy, was I wrong. Actually, after the first moneybomb (Nov 5th) I realized that Ron Paul was BIG! I started to do more research and watching videos on YouTube. I still took me a couple of days to fully understood that this man was actually happening! He spook out on everything! He was honest and straight forward. A politician? Amazing!

It's also good to know that before I really picked up on Dr Paul, I felt that famous apathy when I saw the other candidates on both sides. Dr Paul made me feel like an American again!!!

Good Day

Good Day all from Wichita, Kansas. Back in 2001 I was a Bush Supporter who bordered on fanatical. Al Gore was likely the anti-Christ. Weeeeellllll the years go by and it turns out that every act of infamy I dreaded from Al became the Agenda of W anyway.

I am a paleocon who places the highest of value on Liberty. I Pray to God that there are still enough Americans who share the Founders Vision of Liberty as opposed to Rudi Guilani's sick definition of 'freedom' in the Total State to restored our shredded Constitution. It may well be too late for a restoration. We have had 75 years now of 'friendly fascism' molding the American People............but on the otherhand Communism collapsed over night in the USSR after a 70 - 80 year run. There is always Hope.

I have watched Dr. Paul's political career over many years. He is one of the few in Congress who took his Oath seriously and the only serious contender for Prez this Season who can say that. He stands even Taller among the contenting collection of beltway Dwarves who with his single honorable exception make W & Kerry look good.

Restoring the Constitution is a long term task that will continue after eight years of President Paul. Lets get to it.
