Introduce yourself! Who, What, Where, Why!

Hey everyone! I'm from Tyler, Tx. I'm a moderate who use to only vote third Party on principle, because I was sick of the BS... well, that was before a friend of mine introduced me to the philosophies of a man named Ron Paul! Now I'm all about Ron Paul! my new goal in life is to get everyone I know to show up on March 4th and vote for Ron Paul in the Texas Republican Primaries! I know we can win this time... we HAVE to win, this country can't take 4 more years of the usual!

Welcome, fellow Texan!!

Thanks. I will continue researching but I think he is firmly my candidate.

Love the avatar. I hope we don't get another McCain.

Uhh...if you're a Libertarian then what are you doing supporting Herman Cain? He hasn't shown a libertarian bone in his body, whether in his record or in this campaign. Enjoy your stay here I guess. I imagine the Cain forum is boring, seeing how it has about 30 members total and Cain is already sinking in the polls.

I will probably switch to Ron Paul. Still, I like Cain.

Hi all!

My name is Anthony and I'm over here in Liberalville in Los Angeles, CA. I'm 21 years of age and in the 2008 election, my family and I voted for Alan Keyes. I'm still pretty proud that I voted for a very liberty-minded candidate that was totally against the establishment, as well as an African American to boot. However, about a year and a half ago, I discovered Ron Paul. In fact, a customer of mine from my job introduced me to Peter Schiff, and the "Peter Schiff was right" video - which led me to Austrian Economics and Mises.org, and then finally to Ron Paul. Looking back, even Alan Keyes paled in comparison to Paul, especially concerning foreign policy-related issues and a few others. Ever since, I have converted my mother who always held typical neoconservative views, and also in the process of getting other members in the entire family to vote for Ron. With the help of Ronpaulforums, Lewrockwell.com, and Youtube - seeing the light has never felt so immensely satisfying.

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for this fantastic site.

I'm 36 years old, I'm married, and I'm doing all I can to help Dr Paul win - so I dont have to live in a vannn...DOWN - BY - THE - RIVERRR! /matt_foley_voice

I'm a conservative independent (little "l" libertarian as some would say) who is very active in local elections, and state issues (primarily firearms owner's rights at the state level - I live in the freedom hating state called IL)

I advocate the principled voter/politician, and my overall political mission in life is to overcome the "conditioned voting" that is destroying our country.
I am 100% behind Ron Paul. He's the best man for the job, and shows the perseverance we need in times like these. I agree with him on 99% of the issues, and I think that his only challenge (is a big one) is getting people aware of who he really is! The rest is cake, as his message does the selling...

Given that I have a relatively new/young family, I have been somewhat housebound, making it difficult to hit the street. So when I cant be "out doors" I spend free time, hitting the internet, spreading the word of Ron Paul...

When I am "out doors" I make it a point to talk with everyone I meet about issues, and get Ron Paul's name out there. I rely on attire to also draw conversation, so I'm in the process of building my Ron Paul wardrobe... Its been my belief that every conversation is an opportunity...

Thanks again to those who contribute - its nice to be here, amongst so many like minded individuals.

Carry on!

Hello everyone, I'm Alex. I'm 17 and I live in Virginia.

I became interested in politics when I was 11-12 and I was basically a neoconservative. I supported (as much as a young teenager could) McCain in 2008, and over the past few years I listened to talk radio quite frequently (Rush, Hannity, Levin) and after hearing them (mainly Levin) talk down Ron Paul I assumed he was some kind of idiot. Out of boredom one night this past January, I re-watched the 2008 Republican Debate on YouTube, and I was impressed with Ron Paul. I still didn't fully understand what he was saying, but he seemed very principled, and he made McCain look foolish. I became more open to Ron Paul and ever since then I've been reading this forum a couple times a week, researching more about his message, reading up on the history of non-interventionist foreign policy, and I've grown to really like Ron Paul. I still don't think I understand everything he stands for, but what I do understand I agree with. I really hope he gets the nomination, and I think he can if enough people hear about him. At my school I discuss politics with some of my friends, and we were all stuck on the more "mainstream Republican" I guess sort of thinking. I introduced them all to Ron Paul and I've got a lot of them converted, so I'm proud of myself for that. I look forward to learning even more about Ron Paul and his message, and when I get my next paycheck I'm definitely going to make a contribution.

First time caller long time listener. Been surfing RPF on a daily basis since late 2007. I used to post and be active on this site and other sites (don't remember names/log ins) but a few years back I stopped spending so much time on the Internet. I probably will not post much. However, know that for every active member on this site and other RP sites, that there are dozens of us IRL who are fighting tirelessly for liberty!

RP 2012!

Hello. I'm new to the forum on a recommendation after volunteering in Iowa. I plan on voting in the Iowa Straw Poll next month. Currently he's projected to be second behind Sara Palin-lite, Michelle Bachman, but hey some Iowans are easily fooled by too much make-up, a false tan, and a pair of boobs that are pro-life and support other social conservative ideas.

Anyway, I joined the site so I could chat it up. I'm a registered libertarian, despite the fact I think voting by party is a bit of none-sense and totally not what this country was founded on. About me, I live in Des Moines, Iowa. Am a 29 year old High School English teacher. No kids, just my cats and girlfriend currently. Hopefully Ron Paul will get the Republican ticket, but I know the media has already selected Michelle Bachman, Tim P. or Mitt Romney to get it based on their coverage. Kind of in a similar fashion to how they got Obama elected by plastering his pearly white teeth and quivering cause-inducing speeches all over the place.

Hey everyone my name is Brandon and Im 17 years old. Im heading off to college in about a month.

Ive always been into politics, and yes between 07 and 08 I was a blind neo-con. But after standing by my parents and supporting McCain in 08 I began to rethink everything; true values of conservatism, liberty, etc and began to watch my views change drastically regarding matters of foreign policy among other things. Point is, I became open to listening to Ron Paul, a man I had heard labelled a kook, nut and everything else in the book. It was my self awakening that fully opened me to his views. Ive been well on board for about a year now, but didnt become real active until this summer.

Im also a member of the grassroots group the Ron Paul NYC Liberty HQ and was referred to this site by my friend Mike. I look forward to speaking to you guys!

Hey y'all, I'm Skye. I'm a public school teacher in Pasadena, Texas (Houston area, NOT Dallas area). I went to Hillsdale College, the "conservative bastion of hope." My economics professors were all of the Austrian school, how awesome to be getting a higher education from people who laugh at Keynes? Realized there that I'm not a conservative -- I'm a libertarian!

I've been politically aware since I was about 5 years old and grew up with Hillary Clinton and Newt Gingrich on the TV. I listen to conservative talk radio before work and after work and progressive radio over lunch. Saturday mornings I listen to Freethought Radio podcasts. I am a political junkie and baseball addict, also straightedge and for the legalization of drugs!

I look forward to reading what y'all have to say. :)

Welcome to the last few folks who haven't had a welcome :) Your reasons for coming here provide a great deal of hope to those of us who started fighting for something better years ago (and with some members, that's tens of years ago).

Hi peeps,
My name is Al,im a thirty something Scotsman who works in the tourism industry which allows me to meet a lot of Americans whom I advocate Dr Paul too at every chance..

I must admit that in the UK we get little exposure to Ron Paul wether it be written press or televised and I find that alarming considering what he stands for..I found out about him trolling through youtube and I have been nothing but impressed by the man and his stoic defense of the constitution..

Please keep up the campaign support for this great man and I promise I will continue doing my little bit across the pond..America needs a commander and chief of sound morals and integrity, his name is Ron Paul..

I like to say I was always a libertarian. I just didnt understand economics until recently. Sometimes I cant believe I ever was a socialist, but it certainly had its benefits. I know every argument they pull because I used to pull the same garbage. I first learned about libertarianism when I saw a clip about the Liberty Dollar on a documentary about money. I liked the idea of gold and silver as money, but I found libertarianism ridiculous. I always opposed the Patriot Act and just recently I realized that I have always been more worried about cops than crime, and I do nothing "criminal". I just never liked them. Finally last year, I started learning about real economics and it all made sense. It was perfectly logical and I could see how it applied in real life. So that is why I say I was always a libertarian; I just didnt understand economics. :)

Ron Paul I somewhat supported in 2008 or maybe in 2007. I liked him among the Republicans and I think I liked him a bit more than "Yeah Id vote for him", but I was a socialist at the time. I voted for Obama and it made sense at the time, so I dont really get myself bogged down with regret. But I am somewhat ashamed of voting for a mass murderer. Now, I plan to work to make sure no one I know votes for that thug. I just hope Ron Paul wins because I will have trouble persuading people to not vote and if they do vote, it will be for Obama over Romney or whatever goon wins. But I think Ron has a good shot. Its a long way to February. I gave $25 during the second moneybomb I think and would give more, but Im unemployed now.

I guess thats about it. I heard about this forum a few times from friends and decided to give it a shot.
