I hope McCain wins, if for no other reason than that he is of a different party than that which dominates Congress, in order to have some gridlock.

With Obama being a socialist and his persuasive skills, and a Democratically controlled Congress, there will be little to stop a socialist revolution in this country. You better hope McCain wins or there will be no turning back in our lifetimes. If Obama wins, you might as well kiss pretty much everything the Ron Paul Revolution wanted to achieve goodbye forever.

I think McCain blew it by voting for the bailout bill.

if he would have voted against it, and Obama still voted for it, I personally believe that Obama would be plummeting in the polls and McCain would be rocketing up...'course, when they both do the same thing, they're both back to square one.

that said, they both suck IMHO...they won't do anything to fix the problems we're experiencing.

I agree. That said I hope we end up with deadlock - Obama presidency with a GOP congress. McCain with a demo congress will not be deadlock.

I agree, if McCain wins there will be no chance of rebuilding the party and CFL will die. Because of McCain Republicans will continue to loss both houses of Congress and will guarantee a Democrat President for the proceeding 8 years. The party will be rebuilt with McCains platform and policies.

I am likely voting for Barr but never thought that I would actually like to see Obama beat McCain. He just pisses me off with each debate. For example from tonight:

* McCain again tonight said his plan would bailout people that have mortgages they should not have taken or afford in the first place.

* This is also the second debate where he blasted Obama for being in favor of nuclear safety. The NRC is already in bed with the industry and useless in ensuring nuclear safety. This is directly attributable to the Bush - neocon policies these last 8 years where safety records of our plants have suffered. The last thing we need is a President that is far worse then Bush in encouraging an already corrupt industry that nuclear safety does not matter. France may get 80% of thier power from nuclear power plants but at least France keeps them secure.

* My employer pays 12k for my health plan. With McCain's plan my employer can drop this coverage (I know they will), the government provides me 5k against my 12k plan. So I end up having to pay 7k a year for health coverage.

That is just scratching the surface from tonight.

In my opinion, anyone voting for McCain is actually voting for Palin.

After all, you'd be casting a vote for a 72 year old who has survived cancer four times (with one malignant tumor removed this year), with a neocon hard-right-wing VP who believes Armageddon is imminent, and that the last refuge of the Chosen (of which she is one) is Alaska.

Even if he DOES survive his first term by some miracle, more than likely the nascent fascist policies we've seen in the Bush administration would cement themselves further. Rich would get richer (until they inevitably bail out of the Titanic that is the American debt-based economy), and the poor would get a lot poorer.

Imagine McCain during a Depression: "GO GET A JOB, WHINERS."

The only difference if Obama wins is that he'll have people queuing up for handouts.

I would not count him out and do not believe the polls are accurate. Race will play a major factor in a McCain win.

I hope CFL is making plans for this since a McCain win will be the ultimate destruction of the cause. Ron should not have endorsed anyone and ran third party.

I'm getting to the point where I hope Obama wins. This isn't a substantive thing, as in terms of policy I don't see enough difference between them to even worry about. I think it's a false dichotomy, they're twins seperated at birth, and I just flat don't believe McCain when he throws us a bone. He doesn't even try to look like he means it when he talks states' rights on the abortion issue, for example.

I want Obama to win for two reasons. One, it means persons of color (or at least men of color) have broken through what is arguably the ultimate glass ceiling. I like that, personally. Two, when everyone sees Obama 'playing ball' with the robber barons, it might just help us all see how meaningless distinctions like race, creed, faith, left, right and etc. really are and help us all see just who the real enemy is.

I mean, there will be voters who are initially happy that someone 'of my own kind' got in there because that means they will get looked after at last. Then it won't happen. Red pills all around.
