Huckabee vows to defy birthright citizenship

HQ really needs to make an ad on this or something, just so they can see what lying motherfucker he is...

Or maybe WE need to do this so HQ can stay positive.

How about...
A chip-in to run an ad in some major newspapers before Feb 5th.
Individuals re-run the ad in smaller, local papers.
A massive lit-drop of the ad in all our neighborhoods.

Anyone?

I was watching on PBS "The News Hour" last night and they were showing a Huckabee stump speech. He was talking all about "freedom" and "personal liberty" and praising NH for its "independent spirit". He even tried to take up the "Give me liberty or give me death" theme. What a copycat! Of course he gave no specifics. He didn't say "I'm for liberty, so let's get rid of warrantless domestic surveillance" or "I'm for freedom, so lets roll back the Patriot Act". If he REALLY believes that liberty is more precious than life itself, then why won't he walk away from the "constitution is not a suicide pact" jackasses?

The Huckster has all of the sudden embraced many of Dr Paul's issues. It just shows us that the so-called major candidates do see Dr Paul as a threat.

The Post did tick me off by not acknowledging Dr Paul has been saying this all along. I believe the author of this piece did know that he has.

The problem is - Huckabee started this campaign with absolutely NO platform other than "i love jesus, so you should love me'. Now that he sees how popular Ron Paul's positions are, he has "adopted" them as his own. To be honest, it is extremely sickening. Tucker should get Fuckabee on his show and ask him things like "So, do you have any previous writings or bills that indicate previous adherence to these 'positions', or have you suddenly seen the light?" and really pin him on stealing Ron's positions.

Dear Mr. Dinan,

Please reconsider your statement in the January 8, 2008 article in the Washington Times.

You wrote:

“Mike Huckabee wants to amend the Constitution to prevent children born in the U.S. to illegal aliens from automatically becoming American citizens, according to his top immigration surrogate — a radical step no other major presidential candidate has embraced.”

This statement is completely false.

Republican Candidate Dr. Ron Paul has advocated this position on immigration throughout this campaign.

The evidence for such can be found here: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/border-security-and-immigration-reform/ ;and I quote:

“End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong. “

And also here, http://www.ronpaul2008.com/articles/130/rethinking-birthright-citizenship/ in an article written on October 2, 2006 where Dr. Paul states:

“I’ve introduced legislation that would amend the Constitution and end automatic birthright citizenship. The 14th amendment was ratified in 1868, on the heels of the Civil War. The country, especially the western territories, was wide open and ripe for homesteading. There was no welfare state to exploit, and the modern problems associated with immigration could not have been imagined.

Our founders knew that unforeseen problems with our system of government would arise, and that’s precisely why they gave us a method for amending the Constitution. It’s time to rethink birthright citizenship by amending the 14th amendment.”

Thus not only has Dr. Paul advocated this position during his presidential campaign, he has also introduced a bill to that affect!

Something else to consider in light of your article is a column by Joy Lin of CBS News written yesterday: “Huckabee Sounding A Little Like Ron Paul”, where Ms. Lin implies that Mr. Huckabee has adopted a very similar rhetoric to Dr. Paul on the issue of the economy and inflation.

http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/01/06/politics/fromtheroad/entry3680193.shtml

While I agree with the fact that Mr. Huckabee’s newfound position on immigration is very important to report, please also consider the potentially larger story of how and why these positions are now coming to light.

With best regards,

OMG! this is a joke? right... He is completly ripping off Ron Paul

"Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee made a campaign stop yesterday at the Barley House in Concord, N.H. If he wins the presidency, he said, he intends to review the case against two Border Patrol agents who are serving lengthy prison sentences for shooting a fleeing suspect. (Associated Press)"

UNbelievable!

The article says several times that Huckabee is the only candidate with this position! WTF!?!

For as much as I can't stand the Huckster I seem to be liking what he says.

I'm just waiting for him to start talking about ending the drug war and returning to the gold standard.

No No NO, He will steal votes from us. And the thing is, If he gets into office, all these things he's ripping off from RP, he won't even try to get done. He is selling crap now.

It sure would be nice if one journalist had the capacity to do investigative reporting instead of opinion writing. Ron Paul has been against birthright citizenship from the start. Huckabee thinks he can parrot Ron Paul's platform and we are all just going to flock to him in droves.

Americans are tired of biased journalism. There has only been one primary election held and we are tired of being told the outcome of the election before most votes are even cast, so save your major candidate sound bytes. By the way, just exactly how much money did Huckabee bring in in the fourth quarter???Oh, I forgot, for the first time that is no longer a measure of a candidates support base.

For your edification here is a link to Ron Paul's website so you can educate yourself:http://www.ronpaul2008.com/
You can find Dr.Paul's stance on the issues under the issues section...

Have a nice day!

While the Post says "a radical step no other major presidential candidate has embraced." Fox News just reported the story and said ""no other candidate" openly supports this position.

How I wish Dr Paul supporters would get together after this election and raise money to buy a cable news channel.

many huckabee supporters has knocked down Ron Paul on wanting to end birth right citizenship.

Even more than embracing Paul's issues, it's like he's trying to take everything.. my local ABC affil this morning had a clip of Huck getting the endorsement of some congressman or something, but they introduced it as Huck being comparable to Reagan. Sounds strangely like the article posted on the campaign website yesterday. But in the clip the guy didn't say anything to that effect, it was more like "I don't think I've ever been as excited about a candidate before.." or some such thing.

BTW Huckabeelying had parts of this CFR speech on his site, however he left out the good parts like bombing the entire middle east in search of Alqaeda... LOL

All of the eight puppets left out the real plan...I wish more Americans realized CFR is real... Perhaps the magazine will wakem up... I pray and hope so everyday...

Umm...so far I know:

1. Christmas TV ads
2. Remove IRS
3. Ending birthright citizenship for illegal aliens

Anything else to add?

There's his references to "personal liberty" and "debt and printing money" which all happened this past week.

Folks, once New Hampshire is over you can expect him to drop his Ron Paul platform - he is trying to get the libertarian vote up there, but it's not going to happen.

I haven't been on here in a long time, but I read this article and it made me so angry I emailed him right away and then came here to tell you all to do the same, good seeing you beat me to it! Here is my email:

Mr. Dinan:

I respectfully request that you edit your newsarticle published today, January 8th to reflect the truth. Ron Paul has consistently stood behind the position to end birthright citizenship, long before Huckabee’s voice was even being heard. To suggest that Ron Paul is not a major candidate is false considering the numbers he has shown in Iowa and the numbers he will show today in New Hampshire, not to mention his fundraising which I’m sure you’ve heard about. These two statements are entirely false:

“a radical step no other major presidential candidate has embraced.”

“His new position on birthright citizenship also puts him alone among the candidates.”

Please make these changes and be a responsible journalist.

If you would like to do your reasearch Ron Paul’s unchanging position on this issue can be found here: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/border-security-and-immigration-reform/

Thank you,
