Can you choose to be attracted to people of your same sex?
If you can't, then you have NO basis by which to judge others for claiming that their orientation is not a choice. You obviously don't know any gay people, at least not well enough to the point where you don't accuse them of lying about the nature of their sexual orientation.
So how would he expect to win in a general election again?
Sure I could. I don't want to. If I was sentenced to life in prison might I turn gay? That's happened to many men who swore they would never do that.
LOL. You're full of it. I actually have a close relative who is gay and a close friend who thought she was gay then realized later she wasn't. She wasn't driven to this realization by guilt. In fact she purposefully chose a church were she would be accepted. But ultimately she came to realize that her gay phase was based on little more than getting into one relationship after rebounding off of a bad one. During the whole time I never accused her of lying about her orientation. But when she kept telling me about attractions to men, I said "That doesn't add up to you being gay. Bi maybe, but not gay." She insisted that she was...until one day she told that the label really didn't make sense. For someone who claims not to like Christians for judging others you are very quick to judge Christians based on absolutely nothing than your own narrow mindedness.
And for all of the idiots that don't believe someone can have a Biblical view on homosexuality and have gay friends, please watch this video of (then) gay YouTube celebrity Antoine Dotson in his defense of Chick-Fil-A. At 30 seconds in he says "I have aunties and uncles as well who does not approve of gay marriages and stuff like that, but they respect me."
Except in the case of gay marriage there is no state where the government is "shutting down" gay marriage ceremonies.
I find this laughable.
As I said, you don't know them well enough to not accuse them about lying about the nature of their own sexual orientation...
Telling someone else that you know them better than they know themselves is presumptuous and arrogant. Maybe calling people out on this kind of bullshit is judging. Ok.
If respect means accusing people of lying about their sexual orientation being involuntary, then sure.
Except that (1) they don't/didn't recognize the marriage for any legal purpose, of which there are thousands; and (2) they don't/didn't issue wedding licenses to gay couples. The claim that this is/was not a prohibition of gay marriage is pedantic.
p.s. a small quibble - Harrison Narcotic Act predated prohibition.
Using Huck's logic, I guess since he thinks gay marriage should be illegal then that means he must think swearing and alcohol should be illegal as well.
Christians can't have anything that goes against their faith being legal, they might be tempted![]()
SMH. Okay. Try this. Go to the steps of the courthouse and try to marry two people of the opposite sex in any state in the union and tell me what happens. Then attempt to marry someone of the same sex. In the first case you will be arrested. In the second case you won't.
That act did not bar anyone from the intrastate possession or sale of any substance. Fail ....
Hey, don't call him a Christian. Real Christians do not judge others. He is more like the wolf in sheep's clothing.
That said, unless you've gone to prison and been raped, you can't say for certain that you (Dannno) are not bi yourself.
I call BS. Examples?
The fail is on your part:
... the distribution, sale and use of cocaine was still legal for registered companies and individuals
[/I]... and ILLEGAL for non-registered. Do you even read your own posts? Besides which, I fail to see how a clear example of the govt. REGULATING commerce contradicts my claim that the govt. regulates commerce.
Not true, when I've been really desperate for sex before, I've thought, "Wow this really sucks, what if I just got some gay or bi dude to give me a bj since I can't find a chick?" and instantly I think about their beard stubble hitting my inner thighs and the whole thing makes me a little queasy and I begin to lose my erection.
I actually agree that genetics is not the only factor in sexual preference, though it can be a determining factor... but as we know a person is not responsible for their genetics and they are not always responsible for their life experiences. Early life experiences, even those in vitro tend to have a significant impact on a person later in life.
When you talked about the twins, one of whom ended up becoming a transgender, I would be willing to bet that despite their genetics the one who did not become transgender may have been able to absorb some minute amount of nutrients more than their twin and was slightly more dominant in the womb.
Despite the likely continued dominance throughout their life, you could have possibly separated them at birth and the one who became transgender may or may not have done so anyway. But I would bet if that same transgender twin was on the other side of the womb and got more nutrients and was slightly more dominant, they probably would not have become transgender and the other one may have. Or maybe not, it's probably more complex than we can imagine. But again, like genetics, a person is not always responsible for their life experiences.
I would expect that. You seem pretty naive. One in twenty men in prison are raped.

That doesn't even get into consensual sex. Considering that the gay population on the outside isn't nearly that high, common sense and logic dictates that the confines of prison and the lack of other sexual outlets have something to do with it.
Oh go to hell. Where did I accuse anyone of lying about their sexuality? I haven't. Now I am accusing you, justly, of lying about my position. Really, how stupid do you have to be not to know the difference between telling someone she is confused and telling her that she is lying? In the case of my friend she later told me I was right! Why do you think she came to that conclusion? Because my "lies" to her were that good?
It turns out I was right. You should call yourself out on your own "bullshit." Someone who consistently is attracted to members of the opposite sex, even more than members of his/her own gender, simply isn't gay regardless of whether that person believes himself/herself to be that way or not. You have to be stupid beyond belief not to understand that.
Social Conservatives are funny.... all about small government and this alleged "freedom" until they want to use the force of government to suit their religious bent.
That's not the case. The point of what Jesus said in that passage is that you shouldn't judge others for doing something that you do yourself.
