this is very simply folks...Ron Paul simply needs to show the people that he is serious about protecting them. How can he do that? Tell the people what they are yearning for a presidential candidate to say...

"As president, I will make sure that on day one of my presidency that a bill is already written and ready for submission to FULLY audit the Federal Reserve. As a result of this audit, any individual within the organization who is determined to have committed illegal/unconstitutional acts WILL be PROSECUTED. And, as a result of this full audit, we will finally as a nation be able to see who truly benefited from the bailouts & TARP. As President, I will see to it, that ANY individual within the private & public sector who committed illegal actions, both leading to the need of said bailouts and as a result of said bailouts, will ALSO be PROSECUTED to the highest extent. As a nation, it is imperative that we restore morality. Many people behaved immorally and illegally, which nearly led this country into a complete economic collapse, and this is in my opinion the biggest national security issue of our time. Because, if the financial backbone of this country crumbles, EVERYTHING else great about this country will follow. Under my Presidency, the days of bankers, lobbyists and political officials committing illegal actions unnoticed will be OVER! The rule of law applies to ALL OF US. And, as President I vow to the American people to uphold my promise to PROTECT the people of this great nation, both from threats foreign AND domestic!"

hook, line & sinker!

Making THAT statement would put Ron Paul into front runner status immediately. NO OTHER CANDIDATE can promise the people this. If Ron began stating this at EVERY rally & EVERY speech he gives nationwide...he would be UNSTOPPABLE!

agreed?

ron is not big on prosecuting bernanke.that is rick perry's line. ron says bernanke is misguided not evil.so i dont think persecutions of fed and bailout recepients rank high on his agenda.the system made bailouts legal.it is corrupt but legal, there you go.

The FED may be unconstitutional but it's technically legal (oddly enough); and I've never heard Ron Paul say he wanted to start prosecuting them or wall street bankers or whatever, that's an OWS/Liberal type thing.

It wouldn't make him the front runner.. most Americans only care about their job, and the economy, some worried about foreign policy, even though the fed is getting talked about, the majority of the country isn't saying lets end the fed and go to private currency and the gold standard, in fact Ron Paul isn't going to make any transitions into this overnight, the debt has to be liquidated, thats the road to recovery.

Rick Perry was the one saying Bernanke printing more money is "treasonous" showing his lack of understanding one again, we don't need cowboy antics, we need the truth no matter how bitter.

Key points for the campaign to work on should be as I've noticed
1 - Protecting SS / Welfare beneficiaries (albeit the ultimate goal is to phase them out, seniors really are afraid he's going to cut it day one)
2 - Make the case for foreign policy in the hawk states

This won't work. The bigger issue is immigration. Thats what thick headed conservatives want taken care of. Lou Dobbs types. Troops brought home and put on our southern border. Every conservative pretty much wants that done. That is THEE issue.

Oh yeah I agree with that for sure, maybe a good angle to hit on foreign policy, we're worrying about the Pak/Afgh border not the American/Mex border!!

Get rid of the AID here and the so called ILLEGAL immigration will dissapear. I know they are not coming over here for the jobs lol.

Yeahyeahyeah/blablabla I agree. BUT that dont mean jack sheeaat to red meat conservatives who only watch tv and don't know the ins and outs, know what im sayin? You can say what you said til the cows come home but conservatives want to hear TROOPS WILL BE BROUGHT HOME AND PUT ON THE BORDER and that my friend is the cold reality of what red meat conservatives want. Myself included. And when that is said, joe six pack will ditch romney and head over to our team. It has to be said on national tv though and preferably in all upcoming debates as well as caucus speeches like the other night.

If the troops were brought home, they would spend their money in SC instead of overseas. They would patronize businesses around the bases and rent or buy homes and apartments in the area. As they retire, some will start businesse, also building SC's economy. As the military streamlines, those wishing to continue as reserves could utilize space on the now-existant bases, continuing to contribute to the local economy.

The bills had to be there on ALL the rallies.

"These are the bills we will pass day 1 ;

-audit the fed ("end the fed, end the fed, end the fed")
-restrain the money the president makes ("president Paul,......")
-bring the troops home! ('end the war, end the war,...."

And like that, the people know we're ready to take office.

i'm diggin' that idea

Like it...the verbiage about prosecutions might be a little alarming though.

Day one? try he needs to take his hand of the bible and grab a pen.... don't say a word until he's signed an executive order repealing most previous executive orders... look up and say "it's a new day in America...the age of personal liberty has just begun"

I liked where you were going with Protecting them, but then you veered into the Federal Reserve. Most Republicans don't have a problem with his position on the Federal Reserve. Most Republicans have an issue with his foreign policy. They think he's "perfectly ok with Iran getting nuclear weapons" and even advocates for Constitutional limited govt think it's the job of the President/Federal govt to protect people from physical attacks.

I think he needs to come out with a speech or an AD or something that more definitively demonstrates that he would be a strong protector of the US and the people, but simply believes that our approach of military intervention and aggression actually makes us LESS safe by generating animosity and anger that, the longer and more it continues, gets turned into a desire violence against us.
