how did you hear about Ron Paul

A lot of people I would think first heard of him because he did so well in the debates and won the online polls even though spamming was blamed as the reason he did so well. I have been a supporter of his for years but honestly I started getting excited after the first debate. How about others.

Ron Paul The Taxpayer's Best Friend signs are one of those footnotes in my life. every election cycle i'd see the same sign in the same spots... knew alot of people who really like him and voted for him time and again.

I first encountered him when I became a regular reader of lewrockwell.com shortly after September 11, 2001. His essays and speeches cataloged there were and still are a continual source of astonishment for me. The day he announced his presidential exploratory committee many years of jaded cynicism evaporated like dew in the morning sun. Were I not fully aware of the absurdity of trusting in a broken reed that leaned upon would pierce my hand, I would call it a religious experience. I'll stick with calling it a wonderful education and a demonstration of the impact one person with true character and conviction can have.

At that time they predicted that the US would be turned into the former USSR. They had always spoke of Dr Ron Paul as a true American Patriot. The owner of the board was married to Gunther Russbacher who flew the October Surprise flight to secure release the US hostages for Reagans inauguration. She gets Admirals and Intel types and Marine Corps folks drop by for tea and a chat and feed her the latest inside info, steganogrphics to look for and alert her to major sea changes. They are pretty good at collect the dots and connect the dots stuff.. You can learn a thing or two there if discerning. They keep up on Dr Paul's campaign as well. I first saw Rachel's video posted there by the boards senior editor, PatriotLad. They get alot of traffic from around the world.

My father-in-law told me about him back in 1997. I did a search of the 'net and have been an admirer ever since.

I signed up for Dr. Paul's Texas Straight Talk mailings in 1998.

I wrote in Ron Paul in the "lesser of two evils" Clinton/Dole fiasco, and again in the lesser of two evils Bush?Gore dog-n-pony show.

I admit, I quit "voting" after that.

In 1981, give or take, during my second year (or first?) of high school. Dr. Paul was in the Congress back then. I understood that I agreed with conservative and Republicans on some issues and liberals and Democrats on others. Dr. Paul refered to himself as an old Taft Republican which fit me and my area (from Cincinnati--old Taft Republican country). I voted for him in 1988 with most of my friends, followed his '96 race closely (bugged his consultant on the race everyday with I was working at a polling firm), and--what I want on my tombstone--worked for him when he returned in 1997-2001.
