Hold on.... Uhh.... Yep. Yep I think... I think i got an Idea!!!

something easier and cheaper might be some greens like turnips that you could plant as seeds and they would grow earlier - in the winter. they would be green while the grass or other around them would be brown in teh winter.

If you use bulbs i would use several different types suited for your zone in the event that some of them do better than others based on weather conditions.

I think you should be good with tulips-- depending on the cultivar they can be less expensive than daffodils. both are easy to grow and, of course, bloom in the spring. both need a period of cold in order for them to flower in the spring. you have a lot of options, imo. just know that it could take a lot more work and a lot more bulbs (aka more $$) than you may anticipate depending on how big of an area you are going to plant.

Don't let the do nothing ney sayers get you down -- its all about action! YOUR idea is GREAT! Not to mention motivating for others. And a thousand dollars MUCH better spent than the campaign could ever manage themselves.

If I wasn't coming through Idaho with an oversized load I would stop and help! (Coming through on thursday)

Unless you're also going to donate ~$5000 to the campaign, it's a really bad idea.

Signs are good for boosting name recognition, but not for actually getting people to go to the polls on election day and voting for Ron Paul. And since Ron Paul has name recognition already (after all, this isn't May 2007) then I think the $1000 can be used MUCH more efficiently to get votes.

i think its a really cool idea, but i dont think its the most efficient use of resources.

Assuming RP raises $35,000,000 or more, like he did in 2008, and that the cost is $1000, it would be at most 0,00003 percent of the money spent in his campaign. I think it's well spent money.

Thank you all so much for the advice. To answer some...

I do plan on doing the math before i act so i will scout it out. Plan the day. Map out the graph. and take more then enough of what i will need.

I do not plan on asking permission and this will be a sneak attack. Yes, it is illegal. No I don't give a rats ass. I have done much worse then this as far as morality is concerned and if they get me and I have to go down over Flowers that will be just awesome in my book.

I like the idea about different kinds. Not only for better odds but also could do some cool colors like Ron Paul in blue and 2012 in red or other crazy stuff.

May even be good just to go up now with some corn. It least then it would help Ron and also starving people this fall. I do suspect starving people by fall.

Just because it's a small amount (as a percentage of total raised) that has no bearing on efficiency. its a small amount, the question is would it be more efficiently spent on X or Y?

The time used to collectively think and debate about what other thing to do is better than this is probably worth more than $1,000.

I also want to say that some people have been mentioning crop circles. Its a cool idea and they even look cool but crops are the livelihood of many people. I hope no one destroys a farmers crop in Pauls name or even there own.

If you where a farmer and someone stomped a portion of your crop into the ground it would be the same as them taking a portion of your money and burning it. Please no crop circles people.

Hmmm...not a big gardener or anything, but just thinking ... maybe there's something you could grow that would show up big and could maybe be harvested later to give to shelter/soup kitchen or something? Think we could get a lot of good PR out of this.

I love this idea! Reminds me of:

You might want to do a trial run by using colored poster board to determine your "letter" size. Do a couple of letters using the red or yellow poster boards and then drive by and see how well it shows up and adjust from there. That way you could determine the needed over all size to be seen from the road. Just a thought. I like the idea. It would be a LOT of work to be big enough to make an impact.

This is a good idea. I will do a dry run before fall.

What kind of evil bastard would kill a defenseless tulip?

Oh yeah, the guy who works for the county highway dept.

I would guess they will spray them and want someone to flip the bill if they know who did it but Idaho is laid back and they could even just let it go or at least i know they would give it a couple months before killing them.

With it being political someone would push to have them killed.

If you're already committing the crime, you might as well kill, paint, or remove the grass. Not only can this be done for free, it can't be easily undone, unlike the tulips (mowed, sprayed).

Wile i CANT care less about BLM I calculate that the image of burnt or dead plants will give off less of a positive emotion then the production and growth off living, beautiful things.

But it would be cheaper. I will stick to using 'RoundUp' on the lawns of people i really hate lol.

I kid cuz i love.
