From The Ground in Maine: Romney's Plan Backfired

Waterboro=15 vottes TOTAL in 08, between all candidates, unless its a supercaucus...

Some towns are reporting record turn out. By the looks of it mostly Ron Paul areas. Like S. Portland had a lower turn out and went to Romney.

Earlier in this thread it was reported that one of the caucus locations passed a motion for a visible tally of the vote count so everyone could witness it. This is something that should be done everywhere if possible in my opinion. There is no reason why the count should be done behind closed doors. It reeks of secretiveness and potential fixing otherwise.

All those white heads are not encouraging :( lol

From one of the blog entries:

Rita Bachand, 76, of Sanford, was here attending her first-ever caucus after nearly 20 years of living in Maine. She said Paul was the reason she decided to come out.

"I'm at an age where I hate wars," said Bachand, who identifies with Paul's anti-war stance, as well as his take on the economy.

Young or old, the message is getting out there.

I was half joking ;)

Oh, no worries. I wasn't being critical of your post (that's not my style online, really)...I just thought the Rita Bachand quote is the money quote for us to keep in mind.

That, along with the Minnesota truck driver talking about voting NOBP even if it means standing in line for 5 hours for a sack of potatoes, is the best piece of sound from this entire election cycle, IMHO.

I hit the same 18-34 demo with a similar facebook ad in 6 areas. York and Andro had high click through. Portland and South Portland were medium - similar number of impressions. Oxford Co. and Brunswick were lowest. New Gloucester I set different age parameters for. I got 3 clicks right this am, 9ish, that ended up with the highest click through, but few impressions - only went to new gloucester.

It would be interesting to see if turnout mirrored by click throughs or if anything is.

Interesting data.

Report from Waterboro:

Waterboro Maine... Ron Paul 14, Mitt 5, Santorum 3, Newt 0

Sure would be nice if the whole state went like this.

These small towns are going to make up for us losing by 10 or 20 votes in some of the bigger areas. We need to keep it close in the "cities" and we can win.
