From The Ground in Maine: Romney's Plan Backfired

I hit the same 18-34 demo with a similar facebook ad in 6 areas. York and Andro had high click through. Portland and South Portland were medium - similar number of impressions. Oxford Co. and Brunswick were lowest. New Gloucester I set different age parameters for. I got 3 clicks right this am, 9ish, that ended up with the highest click through, but few impressions - only went to new gloucester.

It would be interesting to see if turnout mirrored by click throughs or if anything is.

I hope so. The problem is that 'Ron Paul areas' were also tea party areas in the larger sense of it. I hope it is Ron they are voting for this time.

It just seems so close with the info we're getting... it's hard not to be optimistic. I'm trying to keep my expectations as reasonable as possible, knowing that one big county could hand it over to Mitt.

Ughh... I think I need some Pepto and a Xanax.

the big county thing is exactly the issue. It is like California is so dominated by Los Angeles that even if 90% of the state went one way, if LA went strongly enough in the other direction.....it would go in the other direction. That is one reason CA put in some proportional delegates.

Very interesting tweets from @2chambers:

Paul supporters throughout room are using pre-printed "Freedom List" of Paul backers as they circle names on own ballots; highly organized

Paul folks are organizing at caucus site, working off an alphabetical "Conservative Republican List" of about 64 names and a "Freedom List"

Delegate candidates now in line, each get 10sec to talk. Of the 1st 20 or so, at least 16 are Ron Paul supporters

Here's a "Freedom List" that Paul supporters in Portland are using http://twitpic.com/8ijywo

According to local party folks, about 200ppl were at Portland 08 caucus; 89 volunteered to be delegates. 2day: 260 here, 145 want to be dels

Paul supporters working together to match up their state delegate choices

Zero Romney organization.. the volunteers I spoke with here all left about an hour ago, to go help at another caucus

Paul won Auburn (part of Lewiston caucus)waiting on the numbers.

Edit, should have a list of the towns won and lost in the Lewiston super caucus shortly (hour or so).

edit again: 49 delegates awarded (unclear how many we got) 10 alternates (at least 1 of those are ours, because it was my sister lol)

Any chance Santorum overperforms at he Maine caucus? He seems to have the pro-war evangelical vote locked up in the midwest.

Yeah, he'll have a relative surge of the 'wave' people who follow whomever is on top, no question. But I don't know if it is overperforming since there were no polls.

Remember, about half of the votes were cast before tuesday when santorum swept all 3 states. He may get a slight bump now, but nothing significant

You are seriously amazing. Thanks for doing this.

Who needs CNN and all their field reporters? We've got ItsTime.

This is getting me PUMPED up!!! We can make 2/14 a huge success with today's results :)!!!!

Our guys shouldn't give out 'freedom lists', they will be used to ID our folks to target against them at later stages of the process.

There's 144 ppl running for delegate positions and only 73 can become delegates. So they get to circle 73 names from the list of 144. So I don't have a problem with this because we need all 73 ppl to be Paul supporters.

Ron wins Auburn, 50 to Romney's 40 Ill pull teeth for the rest of the numbers ha. But by the looks of it they are in the 10s.

Edit: Yup only 118 votes in Auburn, newt and santorum flunked.
