I wonder why the Campaign doesn't pony up on this. I don't think theres any rule why they cant.

Do you honestly think the MSM will come out and proclaim him a Commi even if he was????????

Yeah I said the same thing. Liberty came back with some kind of 'Republican's already know even if the media won't say it bull shit.'

I can just see it now, every "traditional conservative" across the nation turns on the News on MLK Day, wearing overalls and holding a Budweiser in one hand, and a 12 gage in the other, waiting for a mention so they can shout "DAMN COMMIE! WHY DOESN'T THE DAMN LIBERAL MEDIA CALL THIS COMMIE OUT?" after taking a mouthful of beer and spitting it out at the TV screen. Then they'd jump out of their rocking chair, shoot at their black and white TV with their shotgun, whoop out a hearty "YEEHAW!" and exit the room to find a cousin to have angry sex with.

EDIT: Actually, the only guy I can picture doing that is Bill O'Reilly. And he claims to be an Independent.

I still think it would be a wonderful gesture to donate on MLK day - I don't know if we should tamper with making youtubes of it until we have permission of the family to use his image. There are copywrite things to be concerned about...

However that's no reason to not have a donation on MLK's Birthday with a tasteful photograph to mark the day in his honor would be appropriate.

I sent an email to Walter Williams to ask his opinion of this - no reply yet....
 
I, for one, will not donate to commemorate MLK day. I remember the riots and the curfews and the violence that followed where ever this man went. As a Southerner and a Republican, it'd be easier for me to donate on Lincoln's birthday than on MLK day! I'll keep donating to Dr. Paul but I'll make sure I don't do so on MLK day. The man is a fiction of the mass media and there is simply too much available information about his less-than-noble activiites to associate Dr. Paul with him.

Uh...Uh...no way. I've never pooh-poohed an idea that's been floated here but I'm definitely gonna be a nay-sayer for this one.

You know, that's a really great idea to demean the traditional conservatives. You do realize, don't you, that this is another name for libertarian-conservatives? This is the same group of people that voted for Barry Goldwater and it was on his platform that Ronald Reagan ran. These are the small government conservatives. You know, the Republicans whose votes we have a chance of getting for the REPUBLICAN NOMINATION we are seeking.

Do you also realize that Barry Goldwater, Jr., has endorsed Dr. Paul for President?

But, by all means, keep it up Chandler. I'm not too sure how you think we're going to win the Republican nomination by insulting those who actually agree with us, or we have a strong chance of getting on our team. Interesting strategy, indeed. By the way, do you realize that Dr. Paul is also a libertarian-conservative? ;)

Note: O'Reilly is in the neoconservative camp. Which is almost the exact opposite of a traditional conservative, with few exceptions.

I would think African Americans would stand to gain the most from Ron Paul being president than any other candidate(except MAYBE Obama) especially with on issues such as the War On Drugs... Why they would be offended by a campaign, promoting Peace, Equality and Individual Liberty, using MLK for a fundraising day is beyond me... the only reason i could think of would be a combination of the african american community being unaware of what the campaign stands for(in which case it wouldnt be hard to find out...) and bad media coverage(and why would african americans listen to bunch of news stations owned by incredibly rich inbred white folks?)... just my opinion
