Fox removing Ron Paul’s name from their news?

Did they give credit to AP for this news article? If so, there should be some repercussions for blatantly editing an article from their AP source.

It's definitely the same wording just with RP's name removed.

They've done this sort of thing before and apparently they just claim it is their prerogative to report how they wish and they get away with it.

has anyone ever thought of talking to the aclu i know that theres a free speech right but there has to be something you can do when someone is blatently doing this kinda of thing?

Faux is un-American scum. Total traitors and should be shut down and taken off the air permanently.

We need to get RP elected. If nothing else, to spite Faux and their blatant censorship.

Imagine: Paul Administration denies Faux press passes to WH news conferences. Man I would weep if this was to ever happen.

just heard an economist endorse ron paul on the economy on the oreilly factor. hard to believe but i just caught it

What I sent to Milwaukee Fox 6.

For what it is worth. Sent as "Breaking News".

Hello,

Fox, with whom WITI is affiliated, is apparently removing Ron Paul’s name from their news.

Look at this:
http://youdecide08.foxnews.com/2008...-caucus-between-iowa-new-hampshire-primaries/
“Only Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter have passed through since September.”

and compare it to:
http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/01/03/america/Wyoming-Republicans.php
http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/printedition/2008/01/04/wyoming0104.html

“Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul have passed through since September. Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani and John McCain have not.”

Is it proper to edit a story sourced from elsewhere - in this case AP? We now can deduce Fox's position in editing other writers stories, but what is WITI's position on this?

I like you guys at WITI, heck I had an Albert the Alley Cat hat when I was a kid. The kind of stuff Fox is doing certainly can't be helping WITI right now.

Outright censorship of a very popular candidate, even if considered "unelectable" by most at this point, is a travesty and casts an ill light on American journalism.

(Albert the Alley Cat was some lame puppet they had do the weather in the 70's. That was about the start of local news becoming entertainment and corrupted with the opinions of plastic action-figure-like anchors. I miss the opinions given by fat middle-aged hairy-nosed guys who's views "weren't necessarily those of station management".)

You should probably reference this thread under the Fox Debate forum, otherwise people may miss it.

Get this story out to the other news stations, perfect chance for them to attack fox!

Think about the headlines:

"Fox News edits information to their liking"
"Fox News censors"

I emailed AP regarding their policy in terms of changing copy in AP accredited stories.
