Extremely extremely dissappointed

I'm sorry, when was the last time Cuba sent terrorist out to do harm to our interests? Did Iraq, under Saddam or now, harbor, support, or ignore terrorists that are waging a war against us? Unless you're one of those who still thinks Iraq was involved with 9/11 or other terrorists operations against us...

So what do you regard as a "terrorist" nation because now honestly I'm confused. I know Iraq wasn't involved in 9-11, and I know Cuba is largely dormant, but you do know that these countries are officially listed as Terrorist Nations?

If you don't believe so, then what do you consider a rogue nation and which ones?

That's the point, we're talking about Ron Paul's ideals here. Not what some neocon told you was a terrorist nation.

I'd give Saudi Arabia as a perfect example of a terrorist nation.

Ok so lets say you come from Syria which I believe is on the terror list. What criteria in the screening should be allowed for you as an individual to enter this country. Keep in mind I know nothing of the process to enter the country on a student visa.

Criteria such as
1) University documentation
2) Interview process (thorough one at that).
3) Contingency plans (if anything should happen you have to leave the country)
4) Proof of funds
5) Proper documentation.
6) Flags for anything that might be suspect of the individual

I think that is just a few of the things I would list. I'm sure we can expand that.

So when the ad explicitly states no student visas for those that belong to a terrorist nation, what do you think that means? I think you may have a different perspective on this than others perhaps.

*sigh*

I can't believe that this debate is still going on.

I do not believe that the ad in question is correct literally.

I believe what RP's bill says, that it will be more difficult for these students to get visas, which I think that we can all agree is reasonable.

Until the campaign comes out and specifically says "NO STUDENT VISAS AT ALL", I will not believe that is the case.

Even if it WERE the case, there's no reason that you could not apply for another type of Visa.

I understand the confusion, I just don't think that it's warrented.

I know things happen fast on the internet, but not in "real life". Expect something from the campaign soon.

Meaning, on nations that Ron Paul believes is a terrorist nation. It's a Ron Paul ad. Obviously he doesn't agree with Cuba, or Iraq (past or present) as state sponsors of terrorism. Saudia Arabia is a perfect candidate in my mind for some restrictions such as this.

Kill the terrorists, deport the illegal aliens, and secure the borders.

Ron Paul is not your PC candidate. If you want political correctness, you're on the wrong forums and you're supporting the wrong candidate.

Once again

The ad says "physically secure our borders". Do you think this means soldiers linked arm-in-arm at the border?

It's rhetoric. It's a bad wording, but Americans are pretty stupid. We need to hear things like this to break through the shit that the MSM has been slinging.

Do they not go through this process now or is it pretty easy to get into the country?

Okay so you would agree with the policy that we reject all Saudi nationals admittance into the USA with a student visa, even those that seem to meet all criteria aforementioned?

And also, since terrorist nations does seem to be new terminology in this campaign, what would qualify Saudi Arabia as a likely candidate for said terrorist nation?

Please read his bill. There's criteria for what he'll use, and IN ADDITION he mentions Saudi Arabia by name.

Saudi Arabia, not pakistan. We give more money to the Saudi's than israel, surprisingly.

I have read the bill! I was actually responding to neo, not the stance of the campaign, which seems to be still vague!

Nah if anything I'm against PC. This debate is something altogether. I'm hoping you get that.

Understandable! I feel that it is vague too.

I interpret the language one way. You interpret it another. Also understandable.

I am sure that Dr. Paul will clear this up soon.

Until then, I wouldn't do anything rash :)

Yes, reject them all. Saudia Arabia is a major exporter of terrorism, period.

Watch all 6 parts.

Normalization should be mutual. Start shutting down the Islamic (no, not the benign) charities and mosques exporting this terrorist recruiting package, voila, normalization.

Ron simply doesn't have the time to speak about each little sector and sub catagory viewpoint issue that people have. People know he isn't going to screw them over.

Having said that, my personal opinion is that I'd like to see far less international students coming over and getting spots in schools that could go to Americans instead, but I understand that universities make good money on this, so it probably won't stop.

Actually it was easier, far easier. Thankfully, its much more hard and with good reason.

Ok now and I know you don't know the answer to this as nor do I, but, even going through your list of screening...How do we know for absolute positive that you are not a risk if you come from say Syria?
