Does anyone actually believe Ron Paul will get a chance to speak at the grand ol' party national convention?

Just a wake up call for those of you who aren't aware.
It's just not going to happen in a million years.
We'll be next door making noise as always.

No the RNC will hold onto their false conservative agenda and candidate to the grave.

After what he has said about not endorsing McCain...no chance at all...unless through some miracle he gets on the ballot...

I am doing all I can to try and help him WIN the darn convention. A miracle? Sure, but I believe in miracles.

Yes...

Lieberman is going to address the RNC...
If RP does get a spot...hell will be paid....

I honestly don't know yet

I've been noticing a lot of pressure coming on the GOP to include Ron Paul. 1st there was the Fox and friends talking about how Ron Paul canidacy could hurt McCain and Mike Galager stood up for Ron Paul (and his supporters) and said that Ron Paul should be given a prominent speaking spot at the convention. Also there have been many articles written by the Corp Media which have emphazed that this is Ron Paul's strategy. Most recently in the NPR interview (which you absolutely MUST listen to) Ron Paul was asked if a speaking spot was what he was after, why he was staying in. His response is quite interesting.

In my opinion the establishment is damned if you do, damned if you don't. If Ron Paul is excluded you can be DAMN SURE that we will be heard from on the floor of the convention!!! (And outside) not only that but this will probably cause some media buzz and humiliation for McCain. However allowing Ron Paul to speak would be even more dangerous. They simply can NOT allow him to have ANY credibility within the Republican Party. If he stands at that podium he takes on the authority of the GOP, this is a fight the Neo-Cons can't win, they are losing numbers and momentum everyday, we are GAINING in strength. I still have no idea how this whole convention thing is going to play out.

+1

It will be interesting to see how the convention unfolds - they may give Paul a minute speaking role (on a day that no one really watches) as an appeasement.

If they give him a spot it will be at like 1 PM when everybody is at work. If you think they will give him a primetime speech you are dreaming.

Yea true story. It will be at the same time obama gives one or something, and only that will get covered.

I keep hearing that the delegates are not happy with McCain. (Well, duh!)

Do you honestly think that they would even entertain the thought of letting RP address these people, knowing that they're unhappy with McCain? Why on earth do you think they are trying so hard to keep RP delegates from progressing to the national convention. If the delegates were happy with McCain and firm in their conviction (they're not), then they wouldn't care if a few RP delegates slipped through the cracks.

The convention and the delegates are going to be on LOCK DOWN! That's my prediction.

I suspect that the few RP delegates that slip through the cracks will have problems getting past security at the convention site. I'll just bet it'll be the equivalent of being on the no-fly list.

Not a chance in a million he will get a prime-time televised speech.

It's time to forget Ron Paul the man, and just work for the principles, and for candidates who sound like him. He's given up, or been threatened.

in that case

i look forward to watching the death of the gop and after the general election we can pick up the pieces

Yes. Ron Paul will speak at the Convention, and he may be offered a position in a McCain cabinet as part of a deal.

Here's why. There's still a month plus of primaries, and the Socialist party still hasn't decided on a nominee. Therefore, Hildabeast supporters haven't embraced Obamalamadingdong and vice versa. Yet, both of them lead McCain by at least 5 points in polls. Once the Socialists decide on their nominee, the polls will show them with a 10+ point lead. People will be coming out of the woodwork to register to vote for the Socialist candidate.

The GOP has lost three reliable house districts this year. McCain and the GOP WILL HAVE NO CHOICE but to UNIFY ALL REPUBLICANS! Failure to do so will result in a 60-35% popular vote total, and a 500-30 or so electoral vote count. Not to mention, the Socialists taking 300-350 House seats. The GOP would be rendered basically irrelevant. It would be one party rule for a very long time. Good bye any kind of economic freedom. Say hello to national healthcare. Say hello to unfettered Socialism. The United States would become a third-world nation. The GOP will not risk that.

What's going on right now is the powers that be in the GOP want to hold on to their power and are attempting to show a "unified" party by "kicking out" the Paul supporters, the rabid Romney-ites who won't conform, and the Fredheads who can't support McCain. Once they realize by doing this, they're going to seal their fate, you'll see a different tone. If not, the GOP is stupider than I think they are.

if he accepts any position in mccains cabinet then i will LEAVE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY to a bunch of SELLOUTS. There is no way you can even put mccain and ron paul together without ron paul selling out. McCain = a NO VOTE FOR ME IN THE GENERAL ELECTION, the gop can thank themselves for that.

AFTER what the gop has pulled state after state. They have burnt their bridges. IT's RON PAUL as the nominee or nothing. Mccain is dead in the water and the actions of the gop are to blame. i think your right though, the gop is deaf dumb and blind.
