Yes. Ron Paul will speak at the Convention, and he may be offered a position in a McCain cabinet as part of a deal.
Here's why. There's still a month plus of primaries, and the Socialist party still hasn't decided on a nominee. Therefore, Hildabeast supporters haven't embraced Obamalamadingdong and vice versa. Yet, both of them lead McCain by at least 5 points in polls. Once the Socialists decide on their nominee, the polls will show them with a 10+ point lead. People will be coming out of the woodwork to register to vote for the Socialist candidate.
The GOP has lost three reliable house districts this year. McCain and the GOP WILL HAVE NO CHOICE but to UNIFY ALL REPUBLICANS! Failure to do so will result in a 60-35% popular vote total, and a 500-30 or so electoral vote count. Not to mention, the Socialists taking 300-350 House seats. The GOP would be rendered basically irrelevant. It would be one party rule for a very long time. Good bye any kind of economic freedom. Say hello to national healthcare. Say hello to unfettered Socialism. The United States would become a third-world nation. The GOP will not risk that.
What's going on right now is the powers that be in the GOP want to hold on to their power and are attempting to show a "unified" party by "kicking out" the Paul supporters, the rabid Romney-ites who won't conform, and the Fredheads who can't support McCain. Once they realize by doing this, they're going to seal their fate, you'll see a different tone. If not, the GOP is stupider than I think they are.
