I am just about to create a website for military endorsements for Ron Paul. I am figuring on using http://www.ipetitions.com/ for this project. The statement of endoresment will read as such:

I hereby publicly endorse Congressman Ron Paul for President of the United States of America.

Ron Paul has taken an oath as both a military member and Congressman to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic and I believe that he has faithfully discharged those duties.

Ron Paul shows the leadership and judgement that gives me full confidence he will make an excellent Commander in Chief.

I believe that Ron Paul will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States and will, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Any thoughts before I do this?

According to current policy, military members aren't allowed to endorse a political candidate as a rep of the Armed Forces. For example, they can say, "I'm Joe Blow and I support Ron Paul". But cannot say, "I'm active duty military and support Ron Paul".

...Military members may:
4.1.1.1. Register, vote, and express his or her personal opinion on political candidates and issues, but not as a representative of the Armed Forces.

Good idea you have, but probably won't see much participation. Best way for them to support Ron is to donate...which they've been doing.

I do realize the policy exists. This will not be a problem for any veterans like myself or any retired members. Others can participate at their own discretion and they will not be required to reveal the branch or status if they are active duty.

I am.

Former Sergeant of Marines and OIF veteran. I'm already a member of Veterans for Ron Paul, so I've already given him my endorsement. I'll do it again in any venue.
