I had a buddy of mine, this is over thirty years ago now, who was the crew chief for Al Copeland's "Popeye's" team.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good flat out drag race, 10,000 HP for 3 seconds is impressive.

But when you need to produce peak power for hours and hours and hours under the worst possible conditions, well, that's a well built engine.
