Well it's only 5 months away now. Any new predictions? I'm starting to become pretty apathetic about it after waiting 12 years.

Well the end of that particular Mayan calendar does not really , specifically predict the end , without looking , it should be the first day of winter , although , normally for me , when home , winter feels like it comes before that. What it really is , is the end of a cycle ( 13th Baktun)( long count ) and beginning of another . There is one tablet that speaks of it , but pc.'s are missing . At the Tortugero site , it would be monument 6 , I have no idea what it means, but appears to mention a 'seeing " of a "display by God" .
 
The Maya, really , make no prediction of the end ..... maybe, they were smart enough to know God most likely would not tell them . The Aztec , it appears do believe there is an end , but have a 52 year cycle and never made a call as to what end of what 52 year cycle ........
 
Now , if you believe this, in 2027 is when you will need to see . the fires are put out , and if the sun rises again , the new fires are lit and you begin a new 52 yr cycle . Jesus says, in Matthew 24 , " 'But of that day and hour no one knows " . Just a hunch, but I am going with Jesus instead of the head choppers ;) , what Jesus says, makes more sense if you believe or do not believe . What events in nature , usually let you settle in and plan a half century party ??

An Aztec War Cub would be armed with large , razor sharp pc.'s of obsidian , sharp enough to hack off the head of a horse with repeated blows , the other war clubs would be more similar to North American Amero Indians and would have a large ball at the end for skull crushing... these were close range weapons ( about 30" ), the weapons of choice were Atlatl , Bow , sling,spear , and an Oak sword bladed down the sides with razor sharp pc.'s of obsidian.... the clubs were just used at close range to bring down victims to be sacraficed , military training would normally begin at 15 to 20 (the Spartans of the Hemisphere ) . I suppose , if you live like that , the belief in the end of the world soon may make sense ... ;)

An Aztec Sword could sever a horses head in a single blow ... I have held pc.'s of these large, sharp obsidian blades in my hands ...

I don't know about the Mayan calender or if the world will end but the Nibiru cataclysm definitely will not be happening.

The idea of the Nibiru encounter originated with Nancy Lieder, a Wisconsin woman who claims that as a girl she was contacted by gray extraterrestrials called Zetas, who implanted a communications device in her brain. In 1995, she founded the website ZetaTalk to disseminate her ideas.

Astronomers reject the idea of Nibiru, and have made efforts to inform the public that there is no threat to Earth in 2012. They point out that such an object so close to Earth would be easily visible to the naked eye, as Jupiter and Saturn are both visible to the naked eye, and are dimmer than Nibiru would be at their distances. A planet such as Nibiru would create noticeable effects in the orbits of the outer planets. Some counter this by claiming that the object has been concealed behind the Sun for several years, though this would be geometrically impossible. Amateur photographs supposedly showing Nibiru near the Sun are usually the result of lens flares, false images of the Sun created by reflections within the lens

Well, that's the day after my birthday, so I will probably be enjoying surviving 31 years. (assuming I survive till then) :) I'm kind of jaded...Y2K was supposed to be an apocalyptic event, but nothing happened. I expect nothing major will happen on 12/21/2012 either. :p
