CPAC - Straw Poll Today (update: Rand Paul wins!)

damn, everyone is milking Rand's filibuster to the MAX! Cruz talking about it again now, mentioned wacko birds a few minutes ago.

It's probably better that it was so close. They will mention Rand and Rubio together. Reminding conservatives that these are the two top contenders. If it would have been a Randslide they could have ignored the results by saying it was just libertarians voting.

Okay. This was the panel:

“CPAC 2013 All Star Panel”

Robert Costa, Washington Editor, National Review
Ralph Hallow, Chief Political Writer, Washington Times
Larry O’Connor, Editor-at-Large, Breitbart News Network/Co-Host, “Mornings on the Mall,” WMAL 105.9 FM
Rusty Humphries, Host, “The Rusty Humphries Show”

They started the panel out by talking about Rand. Said he was was one of the most interesting politicians today. Talked about the drone fillibuster. One guy absolutely ravaged McCain for his response.

Talked about his trip to Israel. One of the members of the panel went on that trip with him. Said Rand absolutely charmed and made friends with the whole group of 30 that went on that trip. And he also charmed and made many friends with Israel leaders while telling them the benefits of not receiving foreign aid from the U.S....lol.

I hope there is a recording. It was a fabulous segment.
Would love to see that panel.

If men were angels, there would be no need for government. Cruz quoting Madison.

He also quoted Jefferson about the purpose of the Constitution being to bind down the government from mischief. Whether that government be Republican or Democrat.

Rock on, Ted. :)

That's a good point.

I'm pretty sure that I like Ted. A lot. He's a principled guy. He might not ALWAYS agree with me, but I know that he isn't going to put Party first. He'll stand for what he thinks is right.

I'd say much of the Cruz, Paling, Walker, and Carson votes would align more with Rand.

Sounds to me like whomever is counting the votes, the years present and past at this convention, are the most important people we need in the 2016 election.

It's time we had a real winner for a winner.

Hmmm? Carson 4%
